Hello All,

I'm going to graduate from my college on October 24th and my study permit is valid until October 25th.
I'm eligible to apply for 3 years post graduation work permit but I have pretty tight time frame to apply for it.

I know that I have to have study permit at the time to apply study permit. How can I handle this application?

Please kindly advise.

thank you.

1. Apply for a 3 months extension of SA, with an explanation to allow you to graduate.

Hello PMM,

Thanks for your answer. I'm having a really stressful time right now.
Technically I'll be graduating just before my study permit expire so I don't think 'allow me to graduate' reason will be valid.

any toughs?

You must write to cic as soon as possible and must explain that one day isn't enough for you to apply for work permit or ask a solution from your learning institution too.

You cannot graduate till the university is in position to give you official transcript ( which is normally one month after completion of course ). Even for PGWP you will be asked official transcript. In your case it would appear that you will graduate later than October. You can get a letter from university regarding the release date of official transcript .

So please apply for EXTENTION stating that you cannot graduate in October and requesting for further 90 days ( bridging) visa. The university sites have the official dates given when they would be releasing the official transcript.

If you apply now you will be status .

Please do post or inform the outcome / difficulty for the benefit of this site.
