PGWP is for all students who finished degree/diploma/certificate from the school recognized by cic.
you can apply for PGWP when you finish your master (with official letter from the school )

PGWP is not extendable (one time only) so you should find a way to get work permit or apply for PR (if you want ) when your PGWP is expired.

Good luck.

I have a few doubts on the same topic.

1) If I completed 2 years of masters in a designated institution, how many year PGWP will i get? 2 or 3 years?

2) What are the chances of refusal for a student who successfully completed his/her masters?

3) Do we need a job offer for pgwp?

4) After PGWP, permanent job is necessary for applying for PR? What are the other requirements for PR after PGWP?

— If your course of study is 2 years, you will get a PGWP for 3 years

2) What are the chances of refusal for a student who successfully completed his/her masters?
— Providing that you were a successful full time student, that you didn't break any of the conditions on your permit or on the IRPA for the duration of your studies, and that you have applied with the proper documentation within 90 days of successfully completing your studies, there is 0 chance of refusal.

3) Do we need a job offer for pgwp?
— No, you do not need a job offer to apply for a PGWP

4) After PGWP, permanent job is necessary for applying for PR? What are the other requirements for PR after PGWP?
— After PGWP, there are several immigration categories you could consider, including express entry through the CEC stream or a provincial nomination depending on the province you're planing on living.
Please also consider that immigration categories change constantly, so maybe when you graduate there would be some different ones. But chances are that there will be one for you.

so my program is two years: fall , winter , fall winter terms. If I finish my program in one and a half years, will I still get the three year post graduation work permit??

Also does my accepting a scholarship affect my application?

Hi,

I have a query here is PNP applicable for students who have completed their MBA from canada. I am planing to do MBA with VIU, the dual degree program which has PGWP upto 3 years. I have limited options as I have only 15 years of education hence selected VIU.

I have hear about saskatchewan PNP program for graudates or student from canada.

Is it possible to apply for PNP in any province in canada after PGWP is about to expire ?
Does PNP really helps in getting PR ?
How realistic is it to get visa extenstion after your PGWP has expired and you have a job ?

Thanks in advance !!! :D

1. You will end up paying too much (CAD 34,000) for a course that has practically no value in the market, unless you are willing to work as a dishwasher or on a gas station. Think twice before you select 'easy' options.
2. SINP is heavily in favor of graduates from Saskatchewan province itself. For outsiders, its a 2 year wait before you are even eligible to apply.
3. As long as you have a positive LMIA and one extended work permit (rare to happen).
4. If not 3, then not possible at all.

If a uni is offering a 16 months program like Masters in Applied Computing, in such case can we be eligible for 3 years PGWP?

Hi J5M,

I know this quite well that VIU is not one of the best options rather an option for those who only which to apply for a degree program than a PGDM in a college with education limitations of 15 years.

I am a certified SAS (Statistical Analysis System) analyst in business intelligence with about 3 years of work experience in banking and analytical domain. Will this not have any advantage for me ?

I have read many post on this site and realised many things rather most of things in Canada depend on your LUCK.

I really appericate your true reply on the post however, I would request you if you can provide an other alternative in the current situation.
