Hello All,
My friend who is a Vietnamese citizen graduated from a three year college program in Financial Management and applied for a PGWP two months after graduation. She found a full-time job and she had expected her PGWP to go through without any issue. She got a reply back that she was refused on the basis that she had left the country for eight months in the middle of her study period. When she called CIC they told her that it was part of the rules and advised her to see a lawyer about this case. Is it part of the rules that she can't leave the country for eight months during her study period? I couldn't find it. Does she have any grounds to make an appeal? Also, her status ran out in the end of January so she doesn't have any status in Canada and is fairly close to the 90 day deadline to leave the country. Any advice as to what she can do to get a PGWP? If she can't, would she be able to get sponsored by her employer in the short time available. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Redmond
