Hi,
My status in Canada is Student.
I have married a PR here in Canada
I have just finished college 1year post graduate program in Dec 2013.
As of now I have a student visa and off campus work permit.

I also received salary from my spouse as it is his corporation he benefits as he splits income.

When I am filling the Post graduate work permit application. I have come across one difficulty

Question 1) Are you employed?
If I say yes, then I have to show proof that I am employed. But can I work after 31 Dec 2013 on have off campus work permit?

If I say no, then is CIC really going to care? because my status is still a student on student visa.

Please help.

ru your spouses employee? why is ur spouse paying u a salary .....PGWP is not dependent on a job offer so I dont understand ur question

Are you employed? Does you get your salary by cheque? Are your payroll taxes (income tax and CPP) remitted and paid to CRA? If yes, then you are employed and have to say yes, I work, because CIC will know anyway.
If your husband just shares with you his salary (and taxes are paid on his name) or owner dividends withdrawals , then you are not working and answer is NO,

Yes. I get salary by cheque. They are Payroll taxes. My husband owns the business. I am an employee and he does income splitting/dividends.

Since I am employed. I am an employee who has student visa and an off campus visa.
Why will CRA give me Post graduate work permit? CRA might think I am already employed and I am not a student.

Is having a job independent of PGWP?

Am I safe to say ...I am employed on off campus work (Study finished DEC 2013)?

Please advise.

Awesome link
Thanks I got my answer.

Having a job is independent of getting PGWP as nothing is mentioned.
And I satisfy all eligibility criteria. So I am not going to Australia

Yeah. I assumed it was not for me after looking at answer from a hero member ;)

One last question
1) My studies finished Dec 2013. Can I still use off-campus-work-permit to work.

Thanks

If your off campus work permit is still valid, then yes, you can use it until you will not receive PGWP.
