Because of COVID you don't have to wait for the actual WP, I think you get a pdf called 'In Canada Approval' which contains the necessary details of your permit.

No, it was just written over there but I didn’t get any pdf document… maybe we have to wait for original document of work permit.

I received it today, a pdf message which can be downloaded.

Because of COVID you don't have to wait for the actual WP, I think you get a pdf called 'In Canada Approval' which contains the necessary details of your permit.

yes I got the same "In Canada Approval Letter" and it is written in that the hard copy is mailed to my address.

I mean you can probably file your TRV now and when you receive your work permit, send in a webform.

Yes anyone wanting to apply for the TRV can use the In Canada Approval Letter. I read on the CIC website's TRV application section when i was applying last year.

I don't think my province would accept (for provincial health insurance) that in place of the real WP.

No harm asking them, but in any case you should receive the permit at your address within a week irrespective of where you live in Canada.
