Post Graduate Work Permit Processing Time (PGWP)

Holiday tomorrow (4th Jan) for what? I thought they are off on 3rd in lieu for 1st Jan on weekend.
Why 4th?
My friend applied on Sept 10, 2021, and his application was approved last week.
I contacted my work office and they responded that I have to cease work after Jan 6 (my 120 days) if a decision is still not made on my application... So far I couldn't reach IRCC by phone. Does anyone know someone whose application was not made in the 120 days from their application submission and what happened to their work?
apparently, there is an article https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...lOkxuJLCAipFul6hC7fVPGX-DbkkG_e9rYUXizQvhvTY0 that allows you keep working after the expiry. The only issue is that the article only refers to WP-EXT except PWGP, so I have no idea if it applies to PGWP applications as well
I am having a weird issue at the moment and don't know if I'm allowed to work. I applied for my PGWP and didn't not receive the work authorization automated letter. My job is starting and I am not sure if I can work or not. My friends also applied for the pgwp after me and already got their work authorization letters. Has anyone experienced the same issue?
Thanks for your response. Mine is PGWP and it's my first time applying for it. I can't find any articles online explaining my situation...
In normal circumstances you should be able to work on implied status as long as your application has been submitted. Not sure if this is different with COVID-19
Could you please find out the app num of his or her application. I dont know what to do.. I am upset of this delay!
