Some options for you to apply for PR are:
- To get a Canadian degree/master. I strongly recommend, a Scylla did, a 2 years degree which allows you for a 3 years PGWP (work permit).
With only 1 year degree you'll get 1 year PGWP, that could be not enough to get a valid 1 year experience for CEC and, most probably, you'll be not able to work for a while (or even stay) after PGWP when PR was processing.
As somebody said it's possible to get a LMIA WP anytime, which allows you to get PR easier but could be hard to get one depending of your experience, Job and economic situation.
Please note currently PG applying for EE CEC are having lots of problems to get PR due to the low score, this could be as per Inmigration Minister declarations; of course a LMIA grants you 600 points so are good enough for PR.
Only NOC 0, A or B experience qualifies for CEC.
- To get a job LMIA WP based. If WP is for two years (NOC 0, A or B), you'll qualify easily for EE CEC and (with current rules) you can get PR before your WP expires.
If WP is for only 1 year you could qualify but could be more complicated (likeep with 1 year PGWP).
Note that toy can get fired anytime, have working hours reduced, take non-paid leaves or something else, and don't be able to meet CEC requirements.
Nowadays is harder to get a LMIA WP but still being possible, depending on your experince and job sector.
- If you have experience and proper education you could meet the requirements for FST or FSW and be able to apply right now.
I recommend you to create a EE profile and see how many points you get.
<400, hard to get PR, try to improve score
400-450, not too much chances to get ITA, but you could get a Ontario PNP Invitation or similar.
>450, you have good chances to get Invitation to apply.
My recommendation:
1. firts fill EE profile out and see
2. Looks for LMIA jobs
3. In the meantime get College acceptance to be able to apply for student permit (you can work partial time and full time within school breaks). A 2 years degree is the best option. Note college is really expensive for international students.
