POST Graduate work permit .....credits or subjects ??? please help....urgent

Hi Everyone,

I am in a very complicated situation. I am currently doing post baccalaureate diploma in marketing.

I got to know from people who are studying over here that if we want 3 yrs of post graduate work permit then we have to complete 60 credits and uni people says that we need to complete 14 courses and it does not depend on the credits.

Now i have only 16 course in my diploma and each carries 3 credits so in total i can only earn 48 credit so i want to know which info is correct ?

is it the 60 credits we need to earn or do we have to study 14 courses atleast to get 3 yrs work permit...?

Thx for the link but i have already gone through this page but it is mentioned anywhere about the number of courses or the credits required where as uni professors and other international student program advisers says about 14 subjects and other students who have got the 3 yr work permit says 60 credits are required so i want info from the person who has faced this kinda situation or the experienced consultants.

If you have any more in depth knowledge about the postgraduate work permit, please let me know.

technically it is 1yr 11months and 26 days.....but it said as 2 yr course.

how many credit hours per subject in ur university? and i dont understand ur query what is ur international students office saying? because university will issue proof of study time

2 years then u should get 3 years PGWP

If it is 2 years you will get 3 years permit.

actually on my offer letter they say the duration is 1yr + 11 months and 26 days so technically it is not of 2 yrs in total.

all student don't get 3 yrs of work permit and most of the people get 2 ys of work permit but how the other very few people are getting 3 yrs of work permit.

now the international dept is saying we need to complete 14 courses of 3 credits each to get work permit and students who have got 3 yrs of work permit says we need 60 credits.

I don't know who is saying the truth but the point is in marketing i have only 16 courses and if i want to complete 60 credits i have to take 4 more subject which means i have to spend atleast 3 lac more plus i need to apply for the extension of the visa after 2 yrs ...then i can apply for 3 yrs of work permit.

From where i can get these facts confirmed ?

ru in quebec? and ur saying students from ur university have this difference in PGWP(2years and 3years)?

Call CIC(if in Canada) to get it confirmed or mail them. Probably they will take a month to reply you I guess.

Hi I am facing a similar doubt. I called the cic regarding the same but got no exact reply. According to them , it depends on the visa officer.
