Post Graduate Diploma and Certificate

Hi all,

Is there any big difference between Post Graduate certificate and Post Graduate Diploma. I know its a silly question but need to clarify it.
Is graduate certificate considered lower than a graduate diploma?

Of course grad cert considered lower than grad diploma programs and usually of 1 yrs instead of 2yrs diploma

In ontario most of the colleges are offering post graduate certificate instead of post graduate diploma.

2 year courses are also given as Graduate certificate. So whats the difference?
