Hey Experts,

Are we allowed to extend the post graduation work permit past 3 yrs,
My post grad work permit expires in February 2014 , meanwhile i have a full time job in hand.

Also on the CIC website it says that the permit can be extended no past than 4 years.

I had applied for my immigration but was refused due to insufficient hours displayed as work experience , as the hours were under a self employed contract.

Please advise. :-X

No - you can't extend the PGWP.

If you want to continue working past the expiry of your PWGP, your employer will need to apply for an LMO and then you will have to apply for a closed work permit.

Any other options , except for going for an LMO ?

Dear lets vibe

This is our situation exactly. To a "t". And now worked hours and hours only to find that they JUST
extinguished the NOC job category.

FYI: We had to get the LMO.
Employer did not want to be bothered.
Happened upon a lawyer who had an "in" at the company
(total serendipity) and lawyer convinced company to do LMO as
they would have to do nothing. We had to pay lawyer 3,500 and they took
care of everything. Unfortunately, the NOC code they had to use is now
not being accepted.

Once again in the giant catch 22. Good luck. delphinium
