Section 3 details are correct but it doesn't apply to 100% applications. Over the time we see exceptions and I have mentioned these.

In the past, I have seen applicants moving to IP2 without A11 and A40, however, in reality, it only started once A11 and A40 were passed. In some cases, applicants stayed in IP1 till the end and suddenly got PPR.

Finally, the final review is different from IP2. As IP2 is conducted by security agencies while a final review is done by Senior Officer in Visa Office.

I know it's confusing but this is how things work in Immigration Offices.
Hi Bill,

My AOR is 14 Feb and i went to IP1 without Med passed on 23rd March. There is not change in my application while other got cleared their Med and moved to IP2. Do I need to worry?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Bill,
My AOR is 26th Feb and I was told to do additional medical exam by the physician after I submitted my application. The results of additional test will only be available 3 months later. Will other parts of my application be assessed regardless of medicals or will my application be suspended till the results released.
Thank you very much indeed.

In the personal history, what events needs to be covered? Employment for which points are not claimed? Is that all?
I added everything! Education affiliation organizations and even student organization. Unemployment and employment (all of these activities). That what I got from their request.

Heyyy congrats on the PPR :)
I'd like to ask a question if you don't mind. Have you added an index/table of content to your e-APR supporting documents for clarification purposes?
Thanks and all the best :)

Hi Bill,

Have one query..

Submitted my PR application in Jan'2018. My application status changed to "Background check in process" on 27th Feb'2018 (100s of other applicant also got same update on same day, so I am not sure of this update as real).
While reviewing submitted docs today, I realized that there is a mismatch of FD maturity date in two documents provided by the bank. My bank provided details of two FDs (fixed deposits), on official letter head (with account no., opening date, current balance and maturity date of both FDs) and on system generated document (with account no., opening date, current balance and maturity date of both FDs). Maturity dates for both the FDs in letter head got swiped with each other- typo error (while in system generated doc, maturity dates are ok). Although, all other particulars of both the FDs (opening date, account no. and current balance) are matching in both the documents.

Will this affect the processing of my application?

Please elaborate the way forward also.

Thanks

My AOR was done on 11 Jan 2018 but the application was rejected because of an expired PCC. I paid CAD 1040 online using a credit card. The letter of rejection states that the amount will be refunded.

How long does it take for the CIC application fees to be refunded? Thanks!
Hi,

Did you submitted expired PCC or they got expired while application was in progress?

I submitted an expired PCC by mistake.
Alright, thanks.

Actually my PCC are not expired yet like 3 months validity remaining, was thinking to get latest one but i guess its good to proceed with 3 months validity.

Thanks.

Yes, it indicates Step 3 is complete and your application is approved. It will take some time from now to receive PPR. I would say from 4-6 Weeks from RPRF.

Good Luck!
Great info bill.how sure r u about this.
Is an rprf request sent out only after the application is approved or are there exceptions

This rule has changed from the end of last year and RPRF is now sent once a file is processed in CIO or CPC and is Ready to Finalise. Therefore, it means files are still not decided when applicants will receive RPRF and they will have to wait for LVO or CPC to finalise their files and make a decision.

Based on ur experience how long does CPC take to finalise an application after RPRF.i called them yesterday they said that the background check is in process and the visa office is CPC -ottawa.

Part 2 of 2: Most Common Reasons for Rejection

Most common is PCC:

a. Not included

b. No Coloured Scan attached

c. Dates don't cover complete period of stay (for e.g. you stayed in one address until 13th August but PCC cover dates till 31st July – don’t miss even one day)

d. The wrong PCC attached (includes not attaching PCC where you have lived more than 6 months – calculate your stay duration by adding all stays and include PCC if combine stay is 180 days or more)

e. LOE: Not writing explanation of why you weren’t able to attach PCC required and what you have done so far – attach evidence such as PCC Application submitted

f. Incomplete Documents – Some countries require additional documents such as consent forms for IRCC to directly get info therefore, it is important to read carefully CIC Guidance for each specific country before applying.

g. States PCC – Some countries do not have Central/Federal PCC System and therefore, you are advised to get PCC from all states you have lived (For work, study, and residential purpose excluding short stays). In addition, read CIC guidance, as they sometimes require Federal PCC as well instead of just State PCC.

h. Change in Circumstance such as visiting country after having PCC will not remain valid so you need to be careful and may need to apply for PCC again.

Medical Reports:

a. This includes failure to get Upfront Medical or After Letter from IRCC for any reason.

b. In addition, if you have any physical or mental issues the IRCC will reject your application and will advise you to set a meeting with your panellist for further advice or treatment plans – I know some people who recovered after some medication or physiatrist help and got PR later on.

c. Very rare but most significant error I saw was when one person submitted a report from a doctor who was not registered as approved panellist – see from CIC website before booking appointment.

d. Ensure you know what tests are required. Although, it is very rare on one occasion candidate only told panellist that she needs a test for Canada not indicating PR (nowadays for EE) and result was that Full Examination was not done resulting in rejection. {However, that panellist was dropped from approved list after short time but you must be careful if you are not booking appointment from well-reputed institute or Doctor.}

Conversion of Files:

a. Only convert files in the approved format and not just what suits best to you

b. If you are using software’s or online tools for PDF conversion then it is recommended to test it on different readers (such as Foxit or Adobe) before submitting. IRCC will be using Adobe Acrobat so make sure your files (all pages) will open in it. There is a case where IRCC rejected the incomplete application due to files not opening in Adobe (file was converted using Foxit).

c. Your documents must be clear and readable after reducing its size (it is recommended to not have a file below 150)

d. Always convert or scan your file in Color version unless where states by the IRCC to have a grayscale or black and white.

Passport and Visa Status:

a. It is important to attach your Passports and Residential Cards (if applicable) along with your file.

b. Make sure all pages with stamps are also included as IRCC rejected the application in past for not having a stamp for existing of one of the countries.

Education:

a. Not including ECA report or only including ECA number

b. Not including Degrees and Transcripts – please note that IRCC will reject incomplete files unlike OINP, which asks for additional information.

c. If you have distant learning course or studied in a different country than where the Institute is located then include this in Letter of Explanation and clearly mention your status.

Experience:

a. Not including Job responsibility letters or not matching with NOC.

b. Documents submitted cannot be verified the due lack of information of company available online.

c. Company registered in the house or residential area that may raise the question on quality of work performed.

d. Could not answer questions or satisfy officer during a formal interview.

These are the most common Reasons identified from the sample of more than 1,000 applicants in 2016/17.

MY form a1.2 shows the case on b, incomplete saw that on cgms but decision not taken yet can i remedy this before decision is taken

I just submitted my application with medical for wife including an x-ray deferral. When I submit my application again with my child after I add him/her, do I need to get a new PCC for my wife if it is beyond the expiry at that point (does it need to be valid at the time of resubmission with the X-ray results)? Or can I stick with the one I have submitted right now?
