Post-doctoral fellows

Hi:

I am new to the board and if this topic has been addressed in the past if someone could point me to the thread I would be grateful. I have been accepted for a post-doctoral position at UofOttawa. Since I am technically not a student but an employee, I was wondering how long it takes VISA to be processed if submitted online. I am coming from the US. I see average time is 2MO for online application but with strike just ending not sure if I should be prepared to expected backlog delay. Since submitting (24 July) I have not received any word or request for additional documentation but my application fee has been processed.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Can anyone tell me if the strike has effected their visa application and caused any delays, etc? I am a journalism student in Canada and I'm doing an assignment on the effect of the strike on International students. Any help would be great! Thanks!
