Post Baccalaureate or Bachelor Diploma?

Hey Guys,



I'm searching about the best option to go to Canada as a student next year and I found TRU - which is now my 1st option.

I'm about to apply but after reading some reviews here and in another Forums I'm not that sure anymore.



My question is... I have back home (BR) a Bachelor Degree in International Relations but I work in the Tourism Industry (06 years).

So my options are:



- Bachelor of Tourism Management at TRU



________________Or___________________



- Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Tourism at TRU



Which one would you guys recommend?



I'm not sure if the Post-Baccalaureate allows me to apply to a PGWP afterwards.



And I also would like to know if I would need first a Bachelor Diploma to work in the tourism industry there...

Go for Post Baccalaureate course. Better chances of approval than Bachelor course (repetition of same level of education). And Post Baccalaureate will make you eligible for PGWP as it fulfils all conditions of PGWP as TRU is a DLI and course is a full time course.

Would avoid TRU. You are much better off at a public college.

Recebi semana passada o meu visto de estudante para um college diploma, de dois anos.

Acompanhei esse fórum por um tempo e vi muita gente falando sobre como os oficiais recusam pessoas tendo em vista o nível acadêmico do curso que vão pegar lá. Não pode ser mais baixo do que o que vc já tem aqui no BR. Contudo, o meu, por exemplo, vai ser college diploma e eu tenho pós e bacharelado. Acho que depende de cada caso.

Acredito que você deveria levar em consideração o que é mais interessante pra vc. Da uma olhada tb nos college diplomas. Eles dão direito a PGWP, têm duração de até dois anos e focam no mercado de trabalho.

Vale frisar que nesse fórum tem mts pessoas de outras nacionalidades, lugares onde a taxa de aceitação é muuuuito mais baixa que no Br. Por isso, eles precisam ser extra careful. Então, caso vc opte pelo bacharel, contanto que vc apresente um SOP que justifique sua escolha, não acho que vai ter problema.

TRU is also a public one. But yes if you are getting better college/univ then why not but if you’re eligible for TRU only then it’s not that bad

Would disagree. Most Canadian employers have not heard of TRU. It is essentially a school full of international students. Going to a public college will likely help you more and cost you less.

Not hearing of a university doesn’t make it a private one. It will still be a public univ. But as I said, if getting better option like SFU, UBC etc then they are far better. But if no other option, then it’s not like that TRU is not recognised or not a DLI or a unknown single room college like so many in Canada. But surely no comparison with other top colleges/univ of Canada. TRU will take years n years to match other colleges for sure.
