Post application NOC question. 1112 vs 6235 + 2172. Should I re-apply?

Hi,

I applied under July 31st 2014 with NOC 1112 and 2172. I did one year as a credit risk analyst and 10 months as an operations analyst. They were both at the same company and hence my reference letter mentions duties regarding both of them.

I used 1112 since I could not find a more relevant once and since I matched the descriptions on the following points:
- I collected and analysed financial information, performed financial scenarios, wrote reports and recommendations for corporate clients.
- Developed, implemented and used tools for managing and analyzing financial portfolios
- Prepared risk profiles

The second noc 2172 is an accurate match for my second year of work for which I only completed 10 months of work at the time of the application.

Recently, I learned about NOC. 6235 - financial sale rep which is also a match based on the following
- Research and evaluate loan applicant's financial status, references, credit and ability to repay the loan
- Complete credit and loan documentation
- Submit credit and loan applications to branch or credit manager with recommendations for approval or rejection; or approve or reject applications within authorized limits ensuring that credit standards of the institution are respected

As a credit analyst however, I did not sell to clients. Our sales Dept were the ones who sold and filled the application. We assessed the clients based on their financials.

My question is: could CIC reject/refuse my application based on the above? If unsure of the first NOC, will the second one for my second year of work be taken into consideration? Should I send in a new schedule 8?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi,

Does anyone have any thoughts? Or has anyone applied using 1112 for a similar position.

I am considering seeing a lawyer for advice.

Thank you to your time.

You could choose either, which ever matches more, Noc A is more senior roles, so if you are doing personal banking it would be better to choose. I dont know your pay but Noc A jobs are high paying jobs. ope this helps!

I used 1112, but had a different role. I think you're good using that since 1112 is about analyzing financial statements, primarily for investment decisions.

Thanks for the feedback. The lawyer said I was most likely fine since my line of work matched the spirit of 1112. Will have to wait and see.
