Hi guys,

i was going through the above reply received from CHC and trying to understand the final review. earlier i have heard the word "final review" but i couldnt remember where i have seen it. now i was going through the thread of qorax "security and background checks" and there i found it

"Security & Criminality Checks:
A part of the b/ground checks is the 'Security Check'. It commences after our med results are submitted to the CHC. This is a major activity -mainly concerning our 'safe inclusion' into the Canadian Soil; vis-a-vis, Political, Socio-Econmical, Anti-Social disposition, perceived Threat to Canada's integrity etc. This gets us the SDEC, CDEC & SECCRIM.

This is a serious & time-consuming stage, involving many agencies, including CSIS, Interpol, NASC, Database Checking & touch-base with Local Police. Many things are considered here... the No. of countries visited, Applicant coming from 'certain' countries, ex-Servicemen [including Law Enforcement services], Prolonged stay in a country w/out sufficient docs to prove cause, frequent traveling to certain nations, your *Name (?), Inter-Religion/Nationality Marriages etc.

If everything is simple & straight, the file soon gets into the 'final review' stage. If there are any 'red flags', our case goes into a 'spin'. Then our file might go to the local Police/CID agencies; the outcome/timeframe of which is beyond the control of CIC. And thereby the timeframe can be anything [sometimes beyond 1yr]. But, usually this stage should be over by 5 months max. However, a point to be noted is that we can also be called for an Interview [at this stage], due to this reason.

-Culmination: Only upon security clearance we receive the PPR.
-Timeframe: Around 2-6 months. Avg. 3 months. [With new system, sometimes PPR is clubbed with Meds]
-eCAS: Still 'In Process', but 'Med Results Recd.' inside.


so friends i think there is nothing to worry as final review is undertaken only if the security check is ok and passed.. am i right

I am not convinced that background checks are the only reason that is blocker before we receive PPR. There are certain cases although similar in nature but have different length of background checks. I have been waiting for three months now and tha applicants that have sent their meds on may have already received DMs. I believe that Visa Officer(s) must be convinced that a case is genuine. Also, there might be different levels of background checks and as for the post march meds applications these may have been eased to some extent. Given the fact that Visa office is flooded with student visa applications, there is a high probability that our cases might be be looked at before the end of August/September thanks to the 250% rise in student visa applications for Canada. Until then happy waiting.

I am preparing myself mentally to either be called for an interview or getting a refusal. Apologise for being pessimistic but really cant help it now. My patience is really tested to its limits. I have already sent an email to NDVO 15 days back and to CIC 2 days ago. No reply from NDVO.

Yesterday i came across a post of ND applicant who was called for an interview 6 months after he had submitted the passports and the interviewer was an India and he was damn rude.

I am sure our application are lying with an Indian officer and with his crab mentality trying his level best to pull me down.

What was the case with your friend and can you please tell us the outcome of it? Student visas are a bit different because they require immediate processing otherwise the student will have to apply again. Don't want to sound to pessimistic either, but our lives are awaiting a single decision and our careers, lives are at a standstill.

What was the case with your friend and can you please tell us the outcome of it? Student visas are a bit different because they require immediate processing otherwise the student will have to apply again. OK Guys i am sorry i got this wrong. Got mixed up with the topic and the dates. This interview was not after pp submission it was a regular interview. Sorry for the confusion. Anyways this the quote of that person

I was having interview at ND office yesterday in 0213 category at 9:30 am. My interview started around 11:00 am. Before me there were couple from Nepal had their interview and they told me that VO is very strict. Well I went inside the cabin and saw that there were two visa officers. One was Canadian Lady and one was Indian guy. The indian VO started asking me about my exp from first day of my job. Then he talked abt each and every company, I have worked with. I also checked my degree (MCA) and asked from where I did MCA and all. He showed my degree to Lady VO and also said universities of India are not very recoganised in Canada. I was shoked to hear that. Well He was asking me abt my job duties ant was trying to put words into my mouth. He was forcing me to say that I am technical person. After asking me so many questions abt my job responsibilities he said He called me for an interview as he was not convinced that person with 4 yrs of exp can perform all these duties. and after talking to me He is still not convinced. I tried my best to convince him, But he was very very very rude and arrogant. one more thing he said to me was that I dont believe that your manager is doing these duties even. People with Business manager or head of the companies do these job duties.
Well I noticed during my interview that lady VO was very happy when I was speaking. At the end Indian VO asked me that do I have relatives in Canada and How the are related to me. I said Ihave my aunt there and she is my mother's real sister. He said oh you she is ur real aunt, I said yes. Then he said he is not convinced after the interview but He will send his decsion in 3 to 4 weeks. He asked me do you want to say anything else. I started saying something and he said thank you so much anything else. I again started saying something abt my job and he again said thanks anything else. I was like he wants me to say something or not. and finally I said thanks and I came out of the room. I noticed when I was coming out of the room that lady VO started saying something to him . Well I was very much upset yesterday, but I bel..my exp may help people in anyway and I should post it here.
I think its no from VO and thanks to you all throughout.

I request seniors to plz help me to know what will be the next step if will say no. Can I appeal?"

Hey hey...always +ve, why ur so upset today. I know this wait is creating no. of doubt's and even negative energy in our mind. But still as a friend, i just wanna ask u to remain calm n think about days when u will be in canada, ur dream coming true. Surely we all will come out of this waiting days and meet in canada. This negative phase will also move one day......Keep cool....

Feel so sorry for our friend who appeared for interview. Hope Canadian lady gives decision in favour of the applicant. I don't understand why indian VO is so rude?

O.K. friends tell me one thing. When we submitted our passports to NDVO, we all had in our mind that we will receive our pp back with visa wihtin 45 days. May be if we would have received pps before 15th May, then would u friends mind in sharing ur travel plan. ( light moments to come out of this negative phase ).

I mean i had thought of landing at the end of July along with my family and ofcourse in Toronto.

Same here always +Ve, i had also planned in july end coz. i need to take admission of my children in school. I think school starts in September if i m not wrong. Still i m so much worried. If i get visas within next 10 days, then also i will make it up and try to get admission in school for my children. This is the main reason of worry for me and i think the same 4 u too.

That is part of the worry and the other thing is that i am not able to concentrate well enough here as i cannot make any commitments as far as my work is concerned. Need a final decision soon so that i can plan ahead.
