Hi All,

I have applied for grant of citizenship on Dec. 2012 and the processing time started on Jan. 2013. I had been out of Canada for 7 months for my marriage ceremony. However, I have met the residence requirements (1095 days). I had also attached copies of my passports and also my Canadian certificate of enrolments to my application.

Do you think there is possibility of getting a RQ for me?

What would be expected test date?

Thanks,
Iman

Is the file transferred to a local office? If so, which one?

If you submitted the application in Dec 2012 and your processing started in Jan 2013, i believe CIC has fast tracked your application for processing.

That being said, I dont think you will see any RQ. You will get your oath soon.

No one can predict a RQ or the exact causes of RQ...A tip don't worry about something which never happened or no guarantees if it ever will happen....I wish you all the very best with the process of your application.

chandu007: There is no update in my e-cas regarding sending to a local office. Just shows starting process in Jan. 2013. Is there any other way to find the local office?

Thanks,
Iman

You can call up CIC call center if your file had been transferred to your local office they will advise you of same....and staying out of country for that long specially when you are just a PR will surely ring their bells i personally think you will be receiving a RQ so be ready for that...They are getting so strict with it all...i received a rq myself only bcoz i asked to change my Oath ceremony date.

RQ issued when a triage factor is triggered from a list e.g. unemployment with travel or for quality control/ program integrity. To clarify the 1095 days you refer to are actual physical days as opposed to basic residence (PR status) days? What are Canadian certificate of enrolments? Is this a reference to proof of language?

Current CIC quoted time for the process from application to oath date for a routine application is 25 months, non routine 35 months for 80% of applications. Around Sep 2012 CIC started switching applications in process not long after receipt - this is because CIC Sidney carry out some of the processing that was previously done at the local office. Effectively in process doesn't show when your file is transferred to the local office so has become almost meaningless.

Given that Sidney now do the initial triage check for RQ issuance it means that if your file gets transferred to the local office (CIC removed this notification from ecas) without an RQ being issued then you likely won't get an RQ as any residence concerns should have been considered. You may still get RQd at test, post test say if you show up without passports and even at oath notice say if you want to re-schedule as coolcanadian above found to his/her misfortune. So the key is finding the transfer date to local office. Call CIC agent they may tell you if no luck get GCMS notes they will show if this has happened.

Msafiri: The certificate of enrolment if the certificate of enrolments from York University for 1095 days. I have been continuously a student and I had attached all my certificate of enrolments. Do you think if they have certificate of enrolments and translation of stamps of passport still they might issue a RQ?

You have 90 % possibility of RQ as you living outside Canada for 7 months will ring their bells. As another member already suggested start to gather ur documents to avoid any delays.
