I can understand your concern. You can call CIC and check the progress and if you don't get a satisfying answer, go for GCMS notes.

Contact the CIC Call Centre at 1-888-242-2100 Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursdays and Fridays are the least busy days for the Call Centre. Follow these steps to navigate the long automated menu of choices efficiently:

  • Press 1 for French as prompted or stay on the line for English
  • There are 7 options to choose from
  • After listening to the 7 options press 0 and your call should be directed to an agent
  • Note: the system will not give you the choice of speaking to an agent, you must press 0

I keep calling them once a week to find any progress on my file.
All I hear from them is all documents has been received by the right office. Will let you know once the final decision has been made.

Please don't lose hope! There has been something slow at the backend. I would highly recommend requesting GCMS notes.

Also, did you change any address or something lately? And keep an eye on your spam folder (for the email registered with CIC).

Thanks for your reply.

I did order gcms notes 10 days ago- still waiting.
Yes, I updated my address after 4 months of my AOR.

These changes make difference and thus prolong the BG check. Don't worry, keep posting and sure you'll get a good news soon. GCMS would make things clearer for sure.

PS : Keep an eye on any ghost update in your online account and also check the spam folder of your email.

Sailing the same boat (inland application, 7 months since AOR), did you guys get any update on your PR application?

not mine.. almost close to 14 months now!
do you know why your application is not processed even after 7 months?

One reason might be, my file got transferred to the Vancouver office from Montreal office last month.
I ordered GCMS notes 2 months back and R10 was recommended passed (this is the first stage I guess), when I called cic, they said that there is Review required in eligibility.
14 months is a long time, do you have any extensive travel history? or something that might take a long time? or is your application paper based?

I think moving file to places is a good sign..
my file was initially in Vegreville, which closed down! then it moved to Ottawa and now sitting in Sydney for 6+ months. No travel history. everything genuine in the application. they are just holding a short contract job in review for which I have provided docs without asking. I think it is just a matter of more time..
