A positive LMO/LMIA allows you to apply for a closed work permit. If that closed work permit is approved, you can only work for the employer that obtained the LMO/LMIA.

Whether the LMO/LMIA allows you to apply for PR depends on a number of things, including:

- province of employment
- what the skill level of the job is
- if the employer is willing to make you a permanent offer of employment

When your employer files LMO, if LMO is applied for both PR and work permit(this is an option to check in the LMO application form) then you would be eligible to apply both.
Of course, your job should fall under NOC 0, A or B and your employer should offer permanent job.

Even for some contract positions if the employer does apply for LMO and you work for them for one yera, position should be full time atleast 30 hrs a week, you can apply for PR under CEC.

There is no longer this option in the new LMIA applications. However this doesn't change anything if you're eligible to apply (have the skills, requirements etc) , then you can.

I have question, I was on PGWP and since it was expired I had to apply for LMO and I got it. Since I already been employed permanently (I had the employment letter says that I work permanently since 2012). Do I need to provide the permanent job offer.

Thanks.

Dear Beholder 69 I did not understand what is not now associated with the current LMIA process?

Hi, they've removed the section where it asked the employer whether the LMO is only for a temporary position or to support a PR application or both. In reality nothing has changed on that front, since the LMIA can be used for either.
