Hello,

I had a question, that I would appreciate some feedback on:

If one were to apply for a manager position for a convenience store in Ontario. Is there any elligible program that could use to apply for permanent residency on this basis (being a store manager)? Or does it not fall under the skilled labour class? If were able to find an investment partnership in a small company/store ... would that allow to apply under the investor visa or any other scheme ?

I did read all the different schemes here on the CIC website. This seemed interesting, but requires a networth of $10 M or more !!: Immigrant Investor Venture Capital Pilot Program, so unfortunately not an option.

Thanks and best regards.

I believe the best option would be to get an LMIA for a position at the store and then convert that into a CEC application. Does anyone know what positions in a convenience store would be elligible under the CEC class? Is there a minimum pay requirement ?

Yes - the best option would likely be to obtain an approved LMIA and apply under Express Entry. Yes - based on the NOC of your occupation, there are minimum income requirements that must be met in order for the LMIA approved.

Thanks scylla, do you know a few roles which might be elligible for CEC? I heard the rate of rejection for LMIAs is usually very very high and it also takes a long time to process. Do you have any thoughts on that please?

All occupations that are NOC skill level 0, A and B are eligible under CEC.
