I still didn't get my refusal lettter, my hubby contacted his MP and they keep sending letters on his behalf, hubby was in Guyana for a month last month, he was here for two weeks in March/April,last tuesday he went back to his mp, the time before immigration replied and said they are checking my divorce to see if its real, because I were out of guyana and got a divorce.

I take it you got married in Guyana. Left Guyana. Went to the U.S. Got divorced. Got married in the U.S. Went to Guyana for interview & got refused. Correct?

CIC doesn't think your divorce was finalized. Did you submit your Divorce Certificate? I think that should be enough proof! CIC will recognize any marriage or any divorce if it complies with the Laws of that particular country where it was obtained.

To get a divorce, this situation must apply:

You and your spouse have lived apart for one year and believe your marriage is over. Since you were in the U.S. you guys lived apart? How many years did you live in the US? When was your divorce finalized?

Submit your Divorce Certificate along with additional proof that your marriage was over since they have not sent you that letter. Don't forget to include your file number to your already existent file at CIC. That should be the solution. I know you're fed up of waiting.

I was separated three yrs, went to live in US two yrs then meet my hubby , but before we even think about getting marry I applied for divorce, ha d alawyer now I dont know what they looking for.

after 11 months of waiting after my interview my hubby received a letter of refusal, so we are going to appeal,any ideas on lawyers?

Hi everyone!

My hubby got a call from POS this morning letting him know that his PP is ready for pickup.

This process took us 5 mths in total and I am grateful and thankful for all the support and guidance I have gotten on this forum.

For those of you still hanging in there my prayers are with you. Stay positive and strong your time is just around the corner.

My case was I think fairly straight forward. No kids, first marriage (we've been together for 11 years and married for 2 yrs), first sponsorship, no criminal record and he has never lived in Canada.

I was worried about 2 things however:the fact that I was born in Canada, but I have lived in TNT for my entire life and only returned in Jan of this yr and also I was unemployed when I sent in my application. My profession is regulated in Canada and I have to write exams (currently doing so) in order to be able to be employed in my field. But I think I showed support from family and my plan for my future in my profession. I guess it was enough.

I don't think I did anything differently.

Your case gives me so much hope. Since my file transfer I have yet to have any word from POS. The last email i received was when my file got x-fered to POS via Buffalo from the Buffalo Visa Office. After that, I heard nothing from POS (which I was told is pretty normal).

My case is also straight fwd too. This is both our 1st marriage, no kids and all the extra stuff that comes along with it. We've been married for about a year and a half now.
