I was sooooo STUPID and used Air mail with signature request because I done this in the past for mails to Guyana and never had any issues before....I should have done Fedex which is like right across the street from where I work. But, Stupid me used Canada post because it was right across the street from where i live. I am sooooo frustrated...I mean if it was a regular PCC from within his home country I wouldnt mind but we waited 6 months for the one from Cuba...I should have known better...

I sent the PO office an e-mail with a screenshot of the tracking system...I also e-mail the postal office...they replied saying it was a holiday there friday and yesterday so give it two days more to see what happens...***sigh**

have you heard anything Bestwifey?

So it might be on its way but because of the million holidays that took place u have to hang on to see? That's crazy u waited forever and a day for that PCC. Now this. Just hold the faith. I haven't heard a thing that's the norm with this application. Focusing on other things. Glad that u guys are getting stuff done. My case complicated so as my wife said they won't rush to process ours

Did you request the notes...That's wrong. complicated or not it should be dealt with at the same time as everyone else...esp. that kids are involve. I feel like some officers are heartless. Because, how can you miss the most important factors. You will be in my prayers as well and hopefully you hear something soon.

It sad how much power one individual can have on a family life and future.

Hi All

I received my COPR from the Port of Spain office yesterday. Best of luck to everyone, it will come soon.

Yea I'm beyond annoyed they wanted me to send in copies of the police record I Already sent just in December and the schedule A background declaration AGAIN :o. We thought we were close to the finish line and now I feel like I'm going in circles.

Hi misscoco

To get into contact with them you should send an email to Pspan-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

When you send an email, you must include your name, date of birth and application number in the email. They will respond to you in a few days after you receive an acknowledgment of your email. And they will not respond generically, its someone that actually addresses your concern....it will help to be factual and don't get personal and it will also help if you don't send too many emails. I had about 2 concerns and they responded to them promptly and I have now received my COPR. Good luck.

Question: on average how long does it take to process an application for spousal support? because from the time you applied and received a medical request etc has been really quick.

Thanks for the advice and yes we have been corresponding with POS via PSPAN and they are very promt with the replies. CIC website states that its about 10 months for straight forward apps. In my case things are moving very quickly so I can't complain. We applied November 28 2016. So about 5 months in and we already got the passport request. It has been held hostage almost 2 weeks lol but they keep requesting documents we already submitted and it's constantly happening that's why I was in panic mode.

So this is what I received after following up:

Your husband’s application is in queue for review. Once the review is completed he will be advised on the next step(s) in processing.

Regarding the Cuban police certificate - from the information you provided it appears that it just has not yet been released for delivery. There does not appear to be any issues.

You may wish to keep tracking the document and if it is not released by the end of the week you can call the postal services for an update.

Postal Services is saying,
The Canadian High Commission has their mail collected via our PO Box service where they send authorised personnel to clear periodically.

And, when I track it, it's showing document is on hold...Story of my life.

what else I have learnt....sending tooo many e-mails to CIC they will eventually block you....THEY BLOCKED ME....LOL this is crazy...i sent a test email from work work email and it went through...and from my personal e-mail I keep getting an error message. And, I also found out that they signed for the document on April 18, 2017. some Dexter Khan signed for it.

Happy Monday, I thought I should update you with regards to the last e-mail I received from POS VO this morning.

Good day:

The police certificate for your spouse has been received.

This file is now in queue for review. Once the review is completed you/your spouse will be advised on the step(s) in processing.

Note that your spouse/you will not receive any correspondence from this office until this preliminary review is completed.

Good morning all. MonzB u must feel so relieved to see that. Now just a little more waiting, almost there!!!

Apparently when your file goes through a preliminary review it takes an additional 4-5 months also this means they need to take a closer look at the applicant as oppose to a standard review...so here i go in a panic mode again...Why is something so simple becomes soo complicated...**SAD**VERY SAD**

Another 4-5 months for what exactly? Maybe that would be the final wrap up time. U have gotten closer than even me so y would u have to wait so long again? That can't be. Reading that hurts me.

Yes, apparently it does takes an extra 4-5 months for preliminary and then can be sent for another review which will take anywhere beyond 12 months...I have a friend that works with an Immigration Law Firm...So this is what she conveyed to me...because I asked her what does it mean to go into preliminary review, because doing Accident Benefits, Preliminary hearings are never a good thing.

It is sad, very very sad...they kill marriages and relationships the ones that are suppose to go through this get through with flying colours...It is very sad. My friend said I just have to hope for the best.
