lol thank you! im breathing a hug sigh of relief, so my wife would have gotten that slip in canada if anything was missing by now! okay. Yeah we met in july 2011 but lived for a while in trini till april 2012 when her work permit ended. I think we have a very strong application, she comes twice a year since 2012. Only problem is that she is a bit older than me, but i think we have enough proof to get us past that.

My friend don't worry about the age thing lol as long as you have a genuine relationship with lots of proof to show you guys will be more than good :P

There are some people on this forum who have a 26 and more years age difference and still have gotten through

In the search engine type in age difference and you will see what will pop up - read the threads lol

She coming twice a year is real good - I hope she submitted through broading passes and if not let her keep them safe because they can request them at a later date to see more proof

Let her try to get you a visitors visa - that also looks good too

Oh sorry I meant what country you are from

Great everything is good !!!

just didn't know what island you were from - lucky you, your right there in Trinidad in case a interview is required.

My spouse would have to fly from Guyana to Trinidad and its costly too lol

im afraid we didnt submit any of the old boarding passes because she didnt keep them lol but we did provide copies of all entry and exit stamps from 2011- 2015, as well as a copy of her ticket to trini this xmas. We did try to get a visitors visa for me in 2014, but it was denied, we werent married at that time though. I still dont know why though, i have a good job in trini, savings as well as previous travel.......

My husband and I are in the same boat as you ... We met September 2011 and got married March 2015. We've spent the majority of these 4yrs apart... The government website says 17 months for POS, but I have seen some cases where it's like 6 months and they get through! So i'm praying POS shows us some mercy and pushes us through that fast...

Yes it does say 17 months but like you said people do get through sooner. It all depends on case to case

In my case, my hubby will need an ARC and than is more waiting time also - so I can see my case at 17 months or even more (few red flags there)

But honestly speaking POS has been on target - I've been watching this thread since 2013

That's great evidence - you guys are good !!!

So sorry about the denial visa - maybe they figure you wouldn't come back, but now that your married and your PR is in proccess they normally approve the Vistor's visa

I seen this happen many times on the forum - and when the person is visiting in Canada and their application is processing they are at final decision and PR is granted

It was very strange indeed i can tell you that. But we have no interest in applying for another visitors visa, it wouldnt make sense as i wouldnt get the time off from work to go to canada anytime soon, wife and I are going to Iceland next vacation time i get, we also submitted those confirmed tickets for our vacation time 2016..

Beautiful !!!!

You will be here before you know it lol

Try not to worry. My hubby and I used a lawyer because our file was not standard. He had to go for an interview and we were processed in 7 months from applications submission to landing.

Ah, ive been reading threads and it does seem like a waiting game indeed, Hopefully it wont be as long as my relationship long distance, met in 2011 got married in 2015 lol 4 years.... thanks you guys and yes will continue to hold the faith!

Hmm I won't say worried is the word but we are a bit concerned. There is an 18 year age difference , I am 24 and she is 42. We provided a ton of evidence and front loaded very well. I just hope they believe us. We got engaged in 2014 and we even provided the engagement ring receipt from 2013 when I bought the ring for her.

Good news my wife got her passport from DHL today. She picked it up around 11am. Just to book a nearby date to toronto, and we will share landing experience :P Thanks, and good luck to everyone. :P
