Can anyone tell me if POS sends AOR for a file that has been transferred? The letter I got send to me said that file has been transferred to POS but I am not sure if they have received it. We finally got my hubby's FBI report back and we would like to send it in but I don't want to send it to POS unless they actually have the application in hand....
thanks,
Normally after Canada sends you that email then about a month or two you will recieve one from POS letting you know the process has begun. At that point now is when they will request whatever extra documents is needed for you file. In my case they wanted him to apply for an ARC (Authorization to return to Canada - $400 >:( ).

Hey i sent you a reply to your previous post and it seems like we are exactly in the same part of the process like I said...now to answer your question you see that pre-paid airbill postage that you paid for along with the fee to send the documents to them, well they would just use that to cover the cost of them having to send back the package. No need to worry because resending it is what you would have to do anyways. Also anything they tell you to do in terms of their "requirements" your expected to do so or they find some fault with it.

What you can do is check the prepaid tracking number as you should have gotten one and see if there is any activity on it. My husbands prepaid one does not say anything as yet because they still havent sent it back yet. Hope that helps ;)

hey wonderful we should keep in touch. is there a return timeline for the passport?

Oh missed out the 2nd part of your question. Pretty much if they need it they will ask for it. Trust me we learnt our lesson with doing things upfront because he had to re-do medical (which is pretty expensive) and police check which was a waste of money but you gotta do what they ask for so to save some cash just let them request it because everything has expiration times.

thank you so much! at least they acknowledge when they receive it. Some VO don't!

I hope I don't have to redo anything - we submitted everything upfront!

I am not sure where that is. I have been all over Trinidad, Mayaro, Freeport, Couva, Chaguaramas, Maracus Bay - never been to Tobago though...
Good luck to us both!
:D

Do you know how long it took for you to receive that letter in the mail about the file transfer ?

I had to call and ask them to send another letter to me about the SA. I got is on June 8 - via email but I was approved on June 1, 2015 - below is what the letter said...

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in Port of Spain for further
processing. This visa office was selected based on your relative’s home address and the requirements
of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

As you can see it does not show that it is actually in POS I just says it has been forwarded. From what I understand POS will send and AOR for the file... but not 100% sure

Oh alright, the Agent I spoke to last week said how the e-mail is naturally triggered in the system to be sent and it didn't for me so she said that she would resend it.
But up to now I didn't get an e-mail -___-
So I was thinking maybe I should call back or not fret about it.

did they give you your client id? If not I would call back and ask for your id so you can look yourself.
I called on the Thursday June 4 and the email didn't come until June 8 and I never even saw the first one.

I got mine from the call center and all I do is log online and look at my status... although nothing has changed in 3 weeks lol

I got my Client ID when I got AOR .
I was unable to sign in with the Client ID and thought they weren't processing my application until I decided to use the Application number to log in.

When I log in using the application number it says that a decision was made for sponsorship and that the application was received for my husband but that's all.
So I'm assuming it's the same thing regardless of what number we are using to log in.
Or am I wrong ? lol

You're right. My file states the exact same thing. :)
Basically all we do now is wait until POS receives our applications. From other timelines looks like it take a month before they acknowledge the file. They will look for all the documentation and hopefully keep moving us both through the process.

From what I can see everything is going according to schedule.

If you did Meds already and a year passes thats when it expires and you have to spend that money again because he will need it in order to travel. Pretty much meds and police clearances are valid for a year, however some people get extensions if the time is close for them to approve you.

thanks Brit_Edwards! Good points to note. I am praying I don't go over a year but you never know.
hubby's medical was done in February and we get his FBI report in May and his Certificate of Character from Trinidad in March...
So we have a little time.

;D

Can baby and mrs.trini

I added your information to the 2015 Outland Spousal Applicant list... an ongoing spreadsheet to track times.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FAYZyQgud1lzp7fM28i2O8ZrfbMAxdTc_t7_fiwI6ak/edit?pli=1#gid=658388151

If you follow the link and go to the bottom of the page you can see where I added you both. There is some missing information so if you would like to add it please do so.
It gives us a good idea of just how long it is taking POS to process files.
:)

I filled in what I could. Hope it helps a little. Thanks for adding me!
