Hello WOFG, MP stands for Member of Parliament. This is your federal or national (as opposed to provincial) government representative that is supposed to act on behalf of the public in our dealings with various government agencies and departments. The sponsor (you in this case) can contact their MP if they have any complaints, inquiries etc. and most MP's offices have a person dedicated to immigration complaints/inquiries because there are so many of them!WifeOfGrenadian said:Hi, I have been seeing people's messages speaking about their 'MP' and I cannot seem to find anywhere what that stands for?
Is there a link that I can read that explains more about GCMS?
Thank You
Having said that, it also depends on the person at the office who is assigned this role. Most of the time it is one of their assistants and like anything else, some people are better at their jobs than others. In addition many offices will not follow up on your behalf unless it is past the posted processing application times. I believe for POS the times were recently reduced but if your file is not past the 16 month mark at the POS office some MPs will use this as an excuse to not help. It also depends on what your issue or problem is. The MP's office will usually get involved if you think there has been an error by CIC or if you think your application has gone lost or missing.
The GCMS notes, if you just Google that term- or "what are GCMS notes" (which is often easier than using the search function on this site) you will still likely get a lot of returns with answers from this site, it's just easier to navigate the info. that way.
Hope this helps. Blessings.
