I'm going through port of spain and here is my time line so far. I'm hoping that there are others that are ahead of me and can tell me what to expect. My application is a pretty straight forward one. My husband has never been to Canada, has no children and never been married before. We sent in Everything all at once (medical , police check and PR fee)

So far my time-line is as follows

March 5, 2010 - Application recv'd by CPC-M
March 25, 2010 - Approved as a sponsor
April 7, 2010 - Application Recv'd by Port of Spain
May 3, 2010 - Ecas status changed to In Process (for PR)
May 7, 2010 - Sent out AOR Letter (stating application has been received and in process)

It's just the beginning everyone who's just started the process.

I don't mean to bring your hopes down GTwifey but POS is very very slow. There may be times some applicants get through the process real quick but I haven't come across any such cases so far in my processing.

My application is very straightforward as well in such that I have included every bit of proof I possibly could. We bought a condo together last year and have so many other proofs to show.

The downside is I overstayed my time in Canada and was removed therefore needing Authorization to Return. So far though, it's about 10 months since I have been in process as per e-CAS and still haven't heard a word from the office yet.

I wonder sometimes if they have any individuals working in the visa section at all.

Well I'm here to join you all in the long wait to re-connect with our love one..

Here's my timeline..
- April 6 application received at CPC-M.
- May 12 first stage approval was mailed. E-case was active & file was transfered to P.O.S.

..I'm however, trying to be patient ::)

God, it's too difficult at times try to earn that patience especially with everything being on the internet.

I spend almost all day on this forum trying to find one answer to something that is/was bothering me or I keep refreshing e-CAS to see if there has been a slight update to my profile. Still, nothing ever comes out of it.

For what I know so far, POS has my file in queue for an interview. My meds have expired and I would like to keep on top of things just so my processing doesn't get delay any longer.

It's very frustrating guys and gals. I spend a lot of my time going to god and sitting in the temple on Sunday mornings taking my mind off all this stress.

I must also mention that there isn't a day or time that goes by and immigration is never on my mind. It's just a silly way of holding back our lives waiting on some eee-diot to review our files and make a permanent decision.

I have ordered CAIPS notes to see what is happening with my file and should be receiving it sometime in the next week or two so hopefully I can better understand why they are taking so long to do things at that slow slow slow office.

Thanks so much (pending) for letting me know that. It adds some needed hope to this situation. I've heard so many people on the longer side of things. its good to hear that some ppl are getting thru quickly as well.

Yes! I agree with you pending. If your file is straightforward then your chances of getting through quick are much better. I met the grandmother of a girl from GT who told me that her daughter's husband came up within 5 months. If you are a Canadian citizen sponsoring, & your paperwork is strait, & you can prove that the relationship is genuine, your spouse's 8 photos, medicals & police clearance are all up to date& included in the application, and all the fees are paid up front- -- then they shouldnt be requesting an interview.

Patience is virtue. It helps to think positive.

I guess time will only tell.

If someone in here can get some news from that office I would be so happy to least know that there are people who look at the files and not have them sit on desks catching dust particles.

GTWifey, that is not always true ... they can still call for an interview providing that you have done everything they have asked. It is all about how the IO reviewing your file feels comfortable about the genuineness of your relationship with your spouse. Example, if there are questions they are unclear about or need to further verify different aspects of the application.

There are a million and one reasons to be called for an interview. Some offices so selection interview just to create proper statistics for the government and their department.
