Hi MsRuby... Congrats on sending everything. The wait begins! Keep us updated on your file even if it goes to the LA office. Interesting that the lawyer picked the LA office. My thought or understanding was that you had to have legal status in the country or be a citizen in order to file via that country. I think CIC Mississauga will determine where exactly it gets sent from Mississauga. Great news that it is finally out of your hands! Any plans to see hubby soon?

Hey guys, I picked up my package from POS yesterday and the first thing I checked was my passport, which now contains a new shiny visa .
They also included confirmation of permanent residence(COPR) and some information about the visa.
POS was also kind enough to return my school papers.
Now all I require is my plane ticket and ill be on my way!

Thank you Behopeful. You are right about the one year status that's why I was concerned when she suggested LA. I hear that CIC would use to allow applicants to select a visa office where they want to get process but now the application package has to be mailed to CPC-M and they determin where the file goes.

Thank you Cdnandtrini. Believe me when I say I question the LA vo. With this forum, the research and reading of the manual, we were concerned abt processing in the US. However, she explained to us why she choose that office and given my situation and how I came etc, she is trying for my application to be process in the US. Worse case If CIC -M sends its to LA and they decide its not there case then it will get sent to POS. we will lose a few months processing time but like I said, I'm still in my toes with this process at EVERY level. It took forever to get the application out the door and now I don't even know which office for sure will process it. Everything is unsure for me! I guess we will have to wait until we hear back from them and get approve to sponsor, then CSQ from Quebec, file number gor E-cas, then see where is out final distination for processing etc.

Hi MsRuby, what are the average processing times in the LA office? The good news is that CIC-M usually processes at stage one very quickly so hopefully you will know what office your file will go to fairly soon. It sounds like your lawyer is on top of things and that is always important as well. I forgot you also needed CSQ.....start practicing your French !! Blessings.

Anyways we are keeping busy. Hubby is going to school and trying to figure out where his career path leads. We are contemplating a move back to Toronto. We both really miss the culture and our lives were very well established. See what happens. Our daughter is good. She turned 2 in January. Time certainly goes way too fast. She is moving up to a new room in daycare in the next couple of months. I had a moment of she is not a baby anymore! People keep asking us when baby #2 will come.... Ugh.... Who knows!

Hey! We are doing great- other then this never ending winter. I keep saying to hubby let's go to Trinidad. He always says no. We are hoping to go next year for Carnival season. Anyways we are keeping busy. Hubby is going to school and trying to figure out where his career path leads. We are contemplating a move back to Toronto. We both really miss the culture and our lives were very well established. See what happens. Our daughter is good. She turned 2 in January. Time certainly goes way too fast. She is moving up to a new room in daycare in the next couple of months. I had a moment of she is not a baby anymore! People keep asking us when baby #2 will come.... Ugh.... Who knows!

lol......possible baby #2 and a 2 year old and a possible move??? Catch your breath first right?!! Glad to hear things are moving along and baby girl is good. She will always be your baby no matter how old she is .

We are doing ok thanks, of course we have had a few "adjustment bumps" along the way - to be expected - but so far we have survived to tell the tale! Even I am longing for some Trini sunshine which has surprised my hubby as I am not a big fan of the heat. But this winter has even been tough for me - a cold weather loving person. Maybe we will have a nice early spring.....I think we could all use it. Blessings my dear.

I share that sentiment. Everybody is telling us its time for baby number 2! It is super annoying
