HEY EVERYONE,

I know I been quiet lately on this form but I been reading whenever I had time off from work and wasn't stressed out. So I just came back from seeing my husband in St.Lucia about a month now but right before I left my lawyer got an email asking for more proof of our relationship and I had no problem sending in extra proof. I just checked out the ECAS website and I see that my husband finally has a interview date for NOVEMBER 4TH, we are so happy. finally its about time.

I am now waiting on my lawyer to tell me what we need to do before my husband goes for his interview. apart of me is scared of what may happen.
So right now im looking at flight tickets and prices and where he will stay when he goes on for the interview. JUST MY LUCK FOR STRESS TO BE ADDED NOW.lol

Congrats IMP!! Your file is seeing activity :D. So at least this is "progress-stress". POS is really moving with the interviews. I am sure your husband will be fine and the other folks on the forum (like millslu said) who have had interviews will surely help. Blessings.

Have an awesome trip!

CdnandTrini, has hubby submitted his pp yet?
Behopeful, you must be so excited for Friday

I'm a sucker for romantic landing stories so can't wait for all of them!

Hello to everyone! Hi FAD!
I am so incredibly excited for Friday. I don't know if I will be able to provide you with a romantic landing story though! Last weekend I was doing yard work at my parents house. My parents hae a dog that likes to dig holes and my mom just keeps filling them in. Well wouldn't you know I tripped in a damn hole and pulled the ligaments in my foot. Pretty much the hole foot is bruised, so I will be the person at the airport hobbling around! I keep picturing myself... An it's not a pretty sight!
None the less the anticipation is killing me. I have butterflies in my stomach and feel nervous, but in a good way.
Any news on your file? You landing story will be up soon!

Lol.... ;) we all love those stories and I look forward to others as well. So grateful that I will have one to tell in 2013. Hubby has not submitted his PP yet as he was waiting his new one, his old one was going to expire this month and we never thought for a million years, he would get a request until next year. So.......now he is running around trying to expedite that, so he can go drop off all the items at the High Commission.

My nickname for my hubby is Pokey, as in slow like molasses.....It takes him much longer to do things than the average bear when it comes to anything resembling paperwork :P. He wanted to wait until I got there and I am like NO NO!!! We have to hurry......

Because I planned to be there with him anyway for the month of Nov. and if we want the option for us to fly back together I do not want POS making any mistakes or us getting too close to any deadlines on their end. However knowing my man, I am guessing it will still be something I have to do with him when I arrive. That's ok, he has so many skills and talents that I do not possess so we trade off.

Lastly we still have to decide if he will need a few more weeks after Nov. 30th to get his things in order. House, car, business and the many other things that might have to happen. So I am just trying to stay calm, cool and collected but it is HARD!!! We have been together for over 6 years and he has never even been here so I have to be patient and think, what if the shoe was on the other foot. I think he will just feel better when I am there as a second set of hands. But first we will have a bit of "other business" to tend too!! ;) Blessings.

Your husband must be related to my husband! When he returned to Trinidad after living here for 4 yrs he said, 'everyone and everything moves so slow in this country'! I truly appreciate him for who he is and he helps me to realize the good things about life. We work well together!

My husband had his PP renewed here in Toronto at the Trinidad embassy and that really took a while. I hope it is different when applying from Trinidad. They kept telling us his PP had arrived at the embassy here but was in a box and they didn't know when they would open th box. Such a pain in the butt because we needed the PP to get our marriage licence. It all worked out bit it takes time.

I originally thought my husband would be on the next plane to Canada once he received his VISA but that was more my dream. It takes time to tidy things up and say bye to everyone because it's not like leaving for a vacation. I tried to put myself in his shoes and it would be difficult for me to wrap everything up in a few weeks BUT I just can't wait for him to be with us!!!

Come on POS... Millslu needs his PP. He is hosting dinner and we can't all travel to St Lucia, although it would be nice!

Ok @mp let me.tell u my step by step on what.i did first of all when u get off the.plane get to the.front of the airport Trinidad has these huge.buses for only 2tt better then a taxi. This huge bus is going to drip you at the savannah 2 min away from the embassy. When.u reach ask someone where the.embassy is and thy will all tell u around.the.corner by now it might be closed so at least you know were it.is. Go back were you cone.from and ask them for a guest house.close by there are a.few of them but for some reason i cannot remember the one.i.went to maybe a Trinidad on the forum can help me out.the.place is walking distance to the.guest house. Around the savannah. Andbu should be able to trace your step.backwards. Its not much walking. I think.the.guest house is.in.st.anns but give me a few days but there are many guest houses in.the area of the.embassy.but this one is.cost effective.

Oh.am guessing.missd and.fad will.need that.direction.as well. Ask if u.need any more help

Welcome back!
Congrats on sending the file. It's such a relief to know it's out of your hands. And the second guessing is completely normal (ie. I should've sent this or that).
Can you tell us a little more about yourself and partner? Home country? Whe medical was done, etc. Ever been to Canada or currently in Canada? MissD will add you to the spreadsheet and you can view it, the link is under her ticker... Just in case you forgot!

lol....Behopeful - De Trini men - can-uh leeve wit dem or witout dem, ent? :D!!

Hubby surprisingly got his butt in gear today and will pick-up his renewed passport on Friday, then from there will head straight over to the High Commission to drop everything off. Like you I am thinking ok we're done now, where are you??? My dream needs to co-exist with his reality :o. And my guy has never been here before, your hubs will not have the culture/weather shock.

Sorry to hear about your foot. Torn ligaments are tough, I have done both feet in the last few years and they take awhile to heal properly. Good reason for you to kick back when hubby arrives and say "oh darling, my foot is so sore, can you please do everything" :P. Matter of fact, one of my injuries occurred in Trini so I had to be wheeled onto the plane with my foot in a cast flying home to Canada. That was not fun, at all. So rest up my dear.

Hello again IMP, a good guest house where I have stayed before is Called Alicia's Palace. Close to the High Commission and the Savannah. Very reasonable rates as well. You can Google them. Blessings.
