Way to go be hopeful!!! I'm supper excited hearing all this good news from POS. Me and my fiancé have been tracking this forum for about 2 yrs. There are times that pos seems to be sleeping and there are times like these when they are on fire! : )

You, Zoukprincesse and candandtrini don't abandon us new comers! : ) we will need all the support we can get.

No worries MsRuby :D!! I guess it is like a secret pact for all of the members of the club that we did not really want to join. So getting through still leaves one feeling like H*LL NO, I am not leaving my teammates behind! If you have been tracking the forum for 2 years you can probably be answering questions and giving advice so don't be shy. Blessings.

Congrats POS fam...its really uplifting to see things happen for couples and families...keep up the good work...now if only KINGSTON would catch the issuing visa bug as well :o

Thanks waitingonforever. I have a feeling that Kingston will start issuing soon as well and once they do, there will be a lot of movement before Christmas. Stay encouraged and blessed.

Amazing news for you Behopeful, hubby must be floating on air :D! Thanks for the scoop and helpful tips on the drop-off. We cannot get it done until hubby gets back his passport renewed. His previous passport is expiring this month so he had already applied for a renewal and is just awaiting that. Hopefully he will have it in hand within the next week or 2. We are of the same mind - what if POS loses or misplaces the PP???!!! >:(...... That almost has me thinking we should courier it for the tracking capability.....

Not complaining though, glad to have this worry now :D. Your weekend will be so great!! Blessings.

I had the same thoughts... the last time i had applied for a Canadian visa, they spelled my name wrong. Luckily all went smoothly this time :D.

@ Millslu - that would be amazing. I can imaging a plane ride like that no one would sleep. We'd be too excited and chattering all the time. :D

Congrats on completing this journey Behopeful. Your thanksgiving will be amazing this year.

Hey everyone,

One of the original documents they are asking for at our interview is our lease because we applied common-law. We sent a copy with the original application but they specifically highlighted the word original in the interview list. This is not a problem as we have the original, but will they give it back? I know you have to hand in all your documents when you arrive and I have heard some people get to leave with their documentd at the end of the interview.

I am a bit uncomfortable handing over my original lease (only LEGAL PROOF of common-law status) without knowing if I will get it back. God forbid we we should ever need it to reapply etc. It is not like a marriage certificate or birth certificate original where you can pay for a new one should POS lose or keep it. It is the only copy.

Any advice?

hey there Miss D..... if they ask for the original bring it to them.. if they are going to keep it after the interview just ask them if you can get it back at the end of the process. i dont see any reason for them not to get that document back to you at all... good luck with your interview also

I suppose you're right. But I don't exactly trust their "organizational" skills when they let my app sit and collect dust and only decided to call an interview to request the same info I've already given them when my MP put a fire under their @ss. Trusting them with my irreplaceable original documents makes me uneasy to say the least, especially since I need them to have my hubby with me in my own country.

Gulp. Here's hoping they don't mess it up and "lose" my items.

I updated the spreadsheet as best I could going through the last 20 or so pages... if I missed something let me know.

Also, I must have been day dreaming but I don't know a lot about blessedone1 so she/he is not in the spreadsheet. Not sure if they are sponsoring a spouse or not.. sorry for leaving you out blessedone1 if you read this.

Night all.

Behopeful;doc lady big congrats too with pp in hand. And to all the others who have received news including MissD and FAD.

Hi Ms. D. there were of important documents like those in the original application and when they returned my passport, all of those came back with it. If they try to hold onto it during the interview I don't think it would hurt to ask about it's return.

Good Luck!

I completely understand the hesitancy to give them originals.

Not completely sure if this is possible but my thoughts. Can you take the original to the notary public and ask them to notarized it as a certified true copy. I would highly suggest still giving the original but if anything were to happen you will have a certified true copy for your records and you can refer that the original was handed to them.

Again I'm not completely sure if this can be done for this type of document but worth looking into.

I was considering that too.. except I was wanting to give them the notarized copy and keep my original. Trust issues, I guess lol. Thanks
