Congrats Zouk on your ppr. You must be relieved

Thanks girl :) I wouldn't say relieved nuh...more like...I'm not even sure lol. Just want this to be over. I honestly don't have a whole lot of trust in the "system", and until my husband is sitting here on the couch next to me, I can't feel too relaxed. I feel like CIC and POS change things on a dime, it's like being on a reality show :D

How u doing? Just last night we were talking about you, wondering where you were at in the process.

Fiera I'm still not quite sure what your question is...are you confused about what the status explanations mean as bajeinwaiting wrote out?

I have questions to anyone who landed in Qc:

1- when POS asked for the csq, which copy did you send for them?
2- Does it matter which ever copies?
3- Better to send original or photocopy is fine?

I dont understand why they are asking "another" copy since the MICC send them one already...

I am having doubt now?!

Thanks

Ya that right bejein;)

Hi Natley,

When they requested my CSQ i had not received mine as yet, but i told them the MICC would send them a copy. I however scanned my copy and e-mailed it to them. You don't have to send the original. The original is for you to keep as you need it when landing.

Mine friend's application has the same status as yours and he's still waiting. When they have really made the decision and you visa is ready they will change it to decision made . So just sit tight. POS hasn;t been updating the ECAS as often like before.

Oh, ok then :) Like Baje said, POS is not exactly known for their ecas-updating skills, so we have to look at it a bit differently. From what I've seen recently, your status pretty much stays "application received " while the processing and checks, etc. are done. When it changes to "in process", that's a good sign on our end, as most received ppr within a month of that status change (we got ours within one week). "Decision made" typically shows up after everything is complete. Having said that, POS is like Big Brother "expect the unexpected ". A few people got their ppr without ever seeing a change in ecas, and others got decision made before hearing anything from POS. All that to say, absence of status change does not necessarily mean no progress, but "in process" seems to be the most telling sign.

Hi SmokiJ

Glad to hear all is well with you.. Well i came back and I'm gonna be here until end of March. They're lots of job opps in my field in Montreal so I'm not worried..I even got a call while i was there but had to decline cause i was coming back home. We should keep in touch though.. Give me shout when you get back here, maybe we could linkup.
Hi baje

If I do go home it be for 2 weeks in mid Sept. All is not sorted yet so I will need to get in contact with my contact in Bim to see if things are progressing, only then will I know if I will have to go home. Could not contact him earlier as he was indisposed.
When I get back I will link you.

;) Fingers crossed.

You know POS is not really that horrible. I think it's just the stress of the process that makes everything seem that much worse. One thing that had us really stressed was my husband's family was planning a get together here this summer, so we felt a lot of pressure for him to be here in time, and the constant "is he there yet?" made life almost unbearable. This process forces you to more or less hold off on all major plans for the entire duration, so if you can avoid having any deadlines, that frees up the mind a LOT. The other part is the major lack of information! I really hope that the switch to gcms is at least a step towards more consistent automatic updates.

Good morning everyone.
My husband received notification this last week from POS, his interview is scheduled for Oct 4. It was almost 8 months to the day since we applied. We are happy to have had correspondence and are going into this interview process with strength and courage and pride on our backs.

If anyone has any preparation tips, we would appreciate that. I see lots of good sample questions on this forum that he can look at.
Thanks and god bless all.

Greetings everyone,

Hoping all is well.
@Bejeinwaiting I need to start working on my French accent and practice some French in the event I head over to Montreal. On looking at jobs, many organizations ask for bilingual candidates, I definitely need some coaching.

@CDGuyana Best of luck in that interview. The questions on this forum are extremely helpful. The IO will only ask questions in regards to what was stated in your application file....i.e. what you put. Make sure you have additional proofs such as pictures, anniversary cards, call logs etc even if you submitted at the initial filing of your application. You have some time to prepare and with the help from this forum, you will do absolutely great.

@Zouk I know the feeling but you're almost at the end. No need to worry at all now. Time to count down :D

@Saka and @Smokijoe How have you been?

Wishing everyone up north a wonderful labor day tmw.

Blessings everyone....xxx
