Glad to hear things are coming along for you Bajeinwaiting. How are you finding speaking French in Montreal? It's one of the two things holding me back from moving to my fav city :( Having learnt Parisian French in the Caribbean, I find it quite difficult to understand Quebecois and often give up in frustration lol.

Cdguyana, hang in there! Summer is coming to an end, so POS should be back at full staff soon and will hopefully pick up the pace. The one thing I have noticed with them is that when they finally get around to updating ecas with "in process", it usually means PPR within a month or so, so just keep an eye out for that :)

We still have not heard anything from them on our medical extension that they requested over a month ago. The package with my husband's passport n other requested docs was received yesterday, so now we are just waiting for the return. Our anniversary is the end of Sep, so we are wishin, hopin, n prayin that we can be together by then :)

Hahaha I was thinkin the same thing yesterday.. nobody was sayin nuthin. It seems everybody was waitin for you to break the ice.

Congrats on the job offer bajein.. there will be more where that came from when you return.

cdguyana - hang in there!

Zouk - SURELY they will get your PR to you before you anniversary! That would be the perfect present! Fingers crossed for u!

Hey everyone,

Hope all is well. Yesterday was a busy day for me. When I came home, I crashed.

@ Bajeinwaiting How could I have missed that. I start working next Tuesday. Looking forward to it.

I honestly think it depends on the designated immigration officer. I had a long wait compared to some folks who got through in a matter of months. My advise is to tell your friend to keep on corresponding with the visa office....even if they do not get a response. With those updates, a ppr can happen soon. *fingers crossed*

To those waiting, continue hanging in there. One day waiting is in fact another day closer to the end of this process.

Blessings always.

;) thanks, I really hope so too! It's just the uncertainty of the med extension that makes it hard to estimate the time. My husband's bags done packed n waiting by the door, that's how ready he is to leave! Just waiting on that magic delivery from POS!

Congrats Admirable . You all set now . Time to enjoy the cold in a few months ;)

@ Zouk: my hubby in the same boat ... packing and and preparing to leave :). Just waiting ...
I'm seeing him this weekend and then saying bye to my family . I won't be visiting NY for a while now .
Time to spend time with my hubby .

All the people at the 8 month mark . Look out for something soon .

Have a great Labour Day weekend everyone .

This forum has been a real blessing and a source of inspiration and strength.
Yes every day we wait is one day closer to the rest of our lives together.

Enjoy the week everyone and a happy labour day.

Good day All,

Admirable congrats on your new job. you must be so excited. If you don't mind me asking what field are you currently in?

I told my friend's wife to keep sending them inquiry emails until she gets something from them. Her hubby is so ready to be there with her.

@Zouk, use your Parisian French, it's the correct one anyhow. I speak English a lot when I'm there and only really use the French if they don;t understand, but most places i go serve me in english as well as french. I love Montreal, I'm waiting to see who gets elected to run that province . I hope they don;t elect Ms Marois and her counterparts that have no regard for us Anglophones. It's sickening they want us to move there and help pay taxes and build the economy but don;t want to respect our language but we must respect theirs. I say it gos both ways.
POS please reunite these families, they have been waiting long.

Good luck with getting anglophone rights in QC! They are extremely Franco-centric. They're fighting to be separate from the rest of Canada, and some of them can be extremely rude to anglophones. I do find that you can get around in English, but virtually every job posting I've seen there in my field is bilingual imperative. I love Montreal too, but I'll have to be satisfied with vacationing there :)

POS replies when and if THEY see it fit, unfortunately there's little we can do to make em talk. They have responded to my cse's but only on their time. I've never tried phoning though.

Just keep the faith and hang in there! You're closer to the finish line than the start :)

Good night T & T,

Zouk, did u send in ur PS as requested by POS or did u do it voluntarily unprompted?

PS? Passport? If yes, then it was requested by them.

yes passport lol... ok and thank you for answering my question...

Was having a debate to send in passport with redo meds but KGN hasnt requested it. We did redoes voluntarily and thought it might be a good idea to send in passport to be proactive but have since decided against it...

Was EXTREMELY excited to see this stage 1 time decrease today:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

However, when I looked up the POS processing time, it said 15 months.. for some reason I was thinking it was lower (like 13) and my excitement was dampened a little...

Oh well, still an awesome decrease for someone like me that filed this month!

:D aight. Hmmm...yeah, I wouldn't advise sending in the passport without it being requested. They might delay things just out of spite . Hang in there girl, you're still within average timelines, things will happen before you know it :)

That decrease is awesome! Was about time it got back to something normal! I think it might have been summer keeping it so high, hopefully now that people are heading back to work it will stay down.

POS was 13 months, I think it just went up again. Wouldn't worry about that too much, from what I've seen, average times are about 5-8 months after Stage 1 is complete.

@Zouk - I hope so! 5-8 months would be amazing, especially with the decreased stage 1. I could be with my boy by spring of next year!! You always give me hope Zouk! haha :D

Do you think that we will face any delays because we are common-law instead of married? I mean, we have decent proofs (lease showing over 1 year living together, 8 letters, letter from landlord, letters from our parents, joined back account (minor), added him to my life insurance as beneficiary (he doesnt have insurance))... I'm just hoping we get the same "fair timeline" treatment as a married couple... but I wouldnt be surpised if being CL made them take a little longer?
