Good afternoon all.
GCMS is short for 'Global Case Management System', and is a newer computer system that CIC use to record movement on all immigration files. This has taken over from CAIPS. check this linkfor further info http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/pia/global-phase2.asp
ECS is a typo, I believe they meant CSE. case specific enquiry.

Got it!! thank you so much...so now i can confirm i did it all...all the ways to try and understand why i have been waiting for 19 month!!!! So frustating, it is both first marriage li, we have 2 girls together, we have been living together for 5 years for my work was abroad, married for 4 years, he has a multiple entry canadian visa witch he used twice for one month vacation when our girls were born...i though he would be the perfect candidat and that things would go fast!

One day it will be my turn!!!!

Hello

I am a little confused. I am a Canadian citizen and am getting married to my fiancee from St. Vincent in Nov. He is here in Canada as a visitor at the moment until Jan 2013. From reading this forum it seems to quicker to apply outland. Can he do this right after we are married from here as outland enclosing a medical done here and police check papers from St. Vincent. We are going to leave Canada for a week and then re-enter him again as a visitor. I have been reading on here about POS and passports. Must he send his passport in and when is that done? If you have to do that would it not be adventagious to apply inland with extension.

Thanks
Felicia

Good morning Forum Family and welcome to the newbies.
Natley, If you applied with his barbadian passport and you have a straightforward case then you should get through pretty fast. He will not require the counterfoil in his passport so they would just mail the COPR directly to him. Good luck and hang in there.

I got through in 8 months and i was surprised. My hubby and I both have kids but his are canadian citizens and mine are not. We both were married before. We did not submit a huge file to CIC either. That's why I always say it's not the volume you submit it's the quality of proofs you send.

Hope we get some good news today from POS that they're sending more people home to their loved ones.

Hi everybody,

after reading ALL of these posts to give me courage to keep hanging on, and some tips to make things faster... POS like to take their sweet a&?% time!

We file on January 18th 2012
Got letter from CIC April 2nd 2012
Got CSQ accepted May 1fst (it seriously took 24hrs to give it to us)
And since then, nothing-nada-rien!

I send a caips request almost 4 weeks ago. And after reading you all, a send a ECS last tuesday, july 24th. I check online this morning, and now its says IN PROCESS SINCE JULY 23RD 2012.

Our medical has been accepted since april 2nd too.

What's next? Should i be hopefull that we will receive papers soon?

Thanks bajeinwaiting. We hope we have the same fast ending as you did!

Nigea...Being that he is from a visa excempt country, when your application is approved he does not have to send in his PP to POS. They will contact him and make arrangements for fed ex or whomever to pick up and drop off his COPR papers.

Well hubby booked his flight and will officially land on the 9th. Today is our wedding anniversary but I guess we'll celebrate next week! ;D

I think POS fell asleep...where is everyone??

Hey all, just came on the forum here. I am living in Canada and my husband is in Guyana. Our application is just 7 months in. Not sure what to expect from this point on, but hopefully POS has some movement soon for all of us who are waiting so patiently to be reunited with loves ones. I don't even see that our application in process yet at POS, but we just take things one day at a time. How's others experience with time frames at POS? Anyone else sponsoring spouses from Guyana? Have a bless day.
