Morning Folks,

It's finally Friday.....Wooohooooo!!!
Wishing everyone a blessed and safe weekend.

Looking fwd to a few updates before this day ends. C'mon POS. Let's go!!!!!

Good Day All, I hope everyone have a wonderful weekend. I hear the weather will be great.

Hi All,

Hope we get some more approvals today to end the week off with a bang..My requested docs were collected by the courier from the POS visa office on Tuesday right after i sent them an e-mail letting them know they were in their mailbox just waiting to be collected.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Morning Forum Fam,
.
Just a lil update. My E-CAS was finally changed to in process.

Admi- this is great news!!!!! fingers crossed eeh!!!!!!

Yea...it sure is! You have to put pressure on POS when you want things done. When I sent the CSE, I mentioned my E-CAS as well as medical redo and status on my file. Even after my interview, my E-CAS was still showing app recv'd. Next update is decision made as my medicals were already added earlier this week (on Wednesday). *fingers crossed tightly* @MrsLWSN :D

Yay!!! Thats great Admirable...hoping for DM status soon. Then you know your passport has been stamped!

Yeah I find some VO's dont like updating ECAS and u do have to put pressure on them. When I went through the Buffalo VO they never updated my status on ECAS until I sent them an email and then BAM...ecas in process...sent another email and BAM PPR lol...

Guys, here is a silly question...I am going through the sponsorship forms and idk if its just me but I am finding a bit hard to fill out because they are asking for dates you met your spouse, describe the meeting...dates you met family, dates of this and that, who have you met, give names of people in their family you've met and vice versa. The reason I am finding it difficult is because I have known this guy all my life...were friends since before I was aware of my existence...started dating when we were teens...know all his family and alll my family know him. So how do I describe our first meeting in the form in a case like that?

@ Saka101. I suppose you will still need to give some sort of timeline, but if I were you I would write some sort of doc describing your relationship with this guy and his family from the get go. If I was a VO and something like that came on my desk I would have to think outside the box and not stick rigidly to the questions asked on the forms.

Wife comes on Tuesday, will be sending POS a CSE later in the week and if by friday I hear nothing from them I'll be sending some more phone logs & the wife's boarding pass.

Hey Saka,

For the dates themselves, I would use the real dates that you guys met, be it the day after you were born if that was the case. In the explanation of how you met, begin with the fact you've known each other since you were ____ and then speak about when you actually started dating, when it progressed into a serious relationship, and then when you got engaged, married, etc. If there was something marking your first "real" date, or a proposal or anything like that, I'd include it breifly. Remember you also have a section to write the full "additional details" so you can explain everything in there.

Thanks smokie and Zouk....

This helped alot

Good morning everyone and happy Sunday to u alll........question why do I keep reading that most common law cases are not accepted by immigration.....is that true?

Blessed Sunday to all.

My pp reached POS Friday afternoon signed by C.Green, the same person who signed for medicals. I just checked a while ago. Hoping for a quick return.

Hey Champion D, Common Law requires more documentation and more proofs. It is harder to prove as opposed to applying as a married couple.

Like Admirable said it's much more difficult to prove, so there is a greater chance of refusal if not done properly. A friend of mine (US citizen) was sponsored by her common-law partner (Canadian citizen). They had been living together in the US for about 2 years and had declared a domestic partnership, and then filed for Canadian sponsorship. They not only got approved, but went through in about 4 months. So it can be done if done properly, just know there is little room for error and you have to cover all your bases.
