No it doesn't unless you are doing an inland app or you've resided in Canada before. The RCMP background checks can take forever to complete.

Also, he has never been to Canada and the only other place is residing in is where he was born

It shouldn't be a problem. Guyanese applicants also go through the POS office. He will be ok.

Love hump days lol

I have a question for everyone: If I only do court marriage will it be a problem? I was reading on the forms and I think it asks what kind of marriage ceremony did u have and if you didnt have a formal ceremony explain why or something like that and how many guests did u have etc.I might be wrong though.

Nope! I had a court marriage. You can invite your loved ones to the civil ceremony if you want.

I just did a survey on the cic website after i logged off e-cas. Let your voices be heard. Take the CIC survey so that services can be improved.

Just passing thru to bump us up!

Good morning all, very overcast morning in BIM, no rain tho.
My 60 days given to me to submit my comm docs will be up next saturday. Hopefully POS willbe ready to stsrt looking at my file again.

It's a new week.....Let's get it POS!!!!

Hey Forum Family,

Admiral I got my AOR from POS today. It said my file was received on Feb 9. We still have not received the letter for sponsorship approval so that we could apply for the CSQ, but i'm keeping my chin up. We submitted our relationship proofs already, should i send more now that they have my file? It said to do that if you haven't sent them already but we have.

Good Morning everyone :)

Bajeinwaiting, it's a standard letter but if you want to submit more proofs, it doesn't hurt at all. Go right ahead. Also, send them a letter or email indicating that you haven't received the sponsorship approval letter as yet. Thing is, your hubby is approved as a sponsor because if he wasn't, your file would not be forwarded to POS for step 2 of the immigration process (app for PR).

Hi Admiral,

Thanks for the reply.. my hubby called CIC this morning and they said they mailed the approval letter on March 23rd and we will get it in about two weeks but I will still e-mail them and let them know.

Progress on your ends Bajeinwaiting.....I love it!!!!!! ;D
