I believe the official time is 4-8 weeks.....but this can be less or even more in some cases

Any updates from people regarding sponsorship application? So far everything is the same on my end. Also a question for seniors (who've already received their visa and who have been on the forum for a while) how long before passport is sent back from POS office to Guyanese applicants on average? I been trying to read through this thread to try to get an idea, but it's been hard to read 578 pages... haha

Hi Can baby - I see your time lines went very quickly. I can't believe you applied in February and you are just waiting on your visa. When I look at CIC it says 17 months which seems like a really long time.
Congratulations.

From what I see on the forums it does take a while. :D

Thanks for the response! My hubby should be getting it back soon then. :)

I have a question for all the POS people...
Did you receive a notification when you file was received by Canadian Immigration in Trinidad?
Just curious, on June 1, 2015 I got Sponsorship Approval - on the husbands file it says received application on April 7, 2015 but that was in Mississauga.
The letter I got says file transferred to POS but I have seen nothing since then.

Also another question... his medical was done in February and the letter stated if we have not yet done the medical to do so. I think basically that means no one has actually looked at this file??? Any sight from people who are further a long than us is appreciated.

thank
;D

Hey Canadianinlove,

My husband didn't receive a letter from the POS office when the file got transferred. I noticed that a week after the file was transferred my E-cas changed and there was a section for "permanent residence application" and under it, it said "Application received". The only letter he got was the one received a month after the transfer stating the steps that he needed to take to finalize his application. Hopefully, it will be the same for you guys.

Also, the mississauga office just views the sponsor's application and material... The POS office would be the one to request the medical if he hadn't done it as yet.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much! I appreciate the insight. My fingers are crossed that things go smoothly. We don't have any complications so I am hoping they move us through the process fast.
Just paid the Fee for PR and his FBI report was sent as well. FBI report forever but we have everything now. ;D

just think i should add some info here.....this is what i notice during my process, my wife use her email address on her forms and i used mine on my forms, when she submit the app. the 1st two mails went to her only...these were
1) Application receive
2) Application approve/file transfer.

Then a 3rd mail came to me only stating they have receive my application of PR

Then a 4th and final mail was sent to BOTH of our email requesting my passport.

Oh boy! I am going to now have to check all our emails.
:P

An important point to note. the UCI number changes after the sponsorship was approve. The 3rd mail that was sent to my email alone had a new UCI number. so its like one UCI# for sponsorship and a different UCI# when your file is transfer and they start working on the PR app.

FYI both UCI numbers reflected the same information for me and hubby. Tyrowilli... Congrats again... How's the prep to come to Canada coming along?

Taking my time here, Planning to purchase my ticket next week and get an early jump on the Dec ticket price, dont plan on packing much clothes since it will be winter time and what i have wont be of much use. Dont know if i should sell my car or keep it....while my wife just wants me there asap and to hell with GT.

After reading some post under the Job and immigration issues topics on this forum im having some anxiety, but very much excited even tho my expectations are some what tempered.

Dont know if i should walk with my life savings in my hands or pay to transfer it via WU or money gram or summing.

Also plan on having my degree evaluated before i land, just in case i need to go back to school or summing.

Congrads all!!!!!!

IM still waiting not a word. Missing hubby like crazy :(

Hey all , I'm patiently waiting on my Sponsor approval, I should be hearing from them by the end of this month.
I'm seriously nervous so I just figured I'd let out some of my stress.
Praying for a speedy process as most of us are.

Sponsor Approval is typically the easy part. 90% of sponsor are approved. I had to call the call centre to answers on my SA. I called June 4 and they had approved on June 1st. ;D
I am sure things will go well.

It is just all this waiting.

I am glad we have close time lines. I don't think there are a lot of people that actually go through POS.
