Well hubby and I finally booked our flights back to Canada for Sat. Dec. 14th.......I am sure you both will be home before us!!

Okay so 30 working days from the time we requested our NOTES was October 4. Now its Nov 7 and we still haven't received them. We sent in the request since August 23 or so. I know that we are approved and what not because we are waiting for COPR now but what about the $5 dollars I spent for the service? Can I send them a CSE asking what happened to the notes or something because it just doesn't make any sense why we never received them.. Any suggestion or should I just leave it alone

I have some news, sort of, not really, but sort of.

I sent an email to my MP back home where I grew up (smaller population, larger voice, etc.) explaining the situation and saying that I'm not asking for any special treatment, etc., but that I have noticed that people with similar timelines have received decisions and that I was just inquiring as to the status of our application. Well within 3 business hours, my MP called me himself to tell me that he would have someone look into this for me. Less than an hour after that one of his staffers called me back with the following news:

Our file was reviewed in September and we're in the queue to get a date for an interview and that we should be getting that date soon. The MP's staffer said that if we don't get the date by December to call him back and he would look into it again. That was earlier this week. Work has been a zoo so I've been unable to update the peeps on here. As you can imagine we're feeling every emotion. Relief that we're "in process" (in my sense of the word-- I know that is different from how they use it); disappointed that we have to do the interview which will slow things down and of course just really happy that we have a timeline (as vague as it may be right now) for things.

I know we sort of jumped the gun with asking the MP but I was just starting to get overwhelmed with not knowing.

I'm glad b/c I ordered our notes at the end of October so hopefully we'll have those before the interview. So a Christmas reunion/anniversary is out of the question for us... We can't afford to have me go back there so soon.
