Hello All:

I am fairly new to this process. My husband is a Canadian citizen and he placed a sponsorship application for me last November. Processing by POS office was confirmed in March of this year but I have not heard anything since then. The wait is beginning to drive me nuts and from this forum it seems like it has only just begun as I see there are people waiting even longer. I am hoping that participating in the discussions here will bring me some comfort and hopefully pass the time.

I handle the spreadsheet where we track the countries, timelines, and processing of almost everyone going through the POS office. You can click the link at the bottom of my post for the POS spreadsheet an check it out. Once you give me all of your info (country you are from, where you are now, exact date misissauga got your application, date your application got sent to POS, date POS told you they had your application, etc.)

Also, feel free to share anything about your process and ask us questions!

Well, it appears there has been no good news this week :
I was reviewing POS's website today and it reads that the Visa Application Office in Guyana is now open, so i wonder if that means some countries that POS was processing will be shuffled over to Guyana, thus reducing processing times.
POS will be off on Monday Sept 2nd as they're celebrating their Independence. So only 3 full days of work for them next week and as you know, Fridays they only work half days.

Anyway...my husband and i are still painfully waiting, still no GCM notes, still no word on extension of medicals, still no PPR

Question for you all concerning our application,

what do you think is going to happen between now and Sept 19th, because Sept 19th is the 3 month deadline for POS to tell us if they are going to extend my husbands medicals, his original medicals expired on June 19????
I am trying to be patient and calm, but i got to tell you, my anxiety is through the roof.... (breath!)

Hey Mrs Millslu,

I believe they will extend your medicals where you are so close to the end of the process. Most of the time they don't tell you they have done so.. so don't stress about not having heard yet.

I notice Mrs. Millslu you ordered notes but haven't received. Did you email them? How did you order the notes? Online and attach Mr. Millslu's consent? Just wondering but you could try and email them.

Yes, I requested our notes in early July. I mailed in the request with my husbands consent attached a long with a $5 cheque which they have yet to cash all now.

I sent them an email about the status of our notes last week and I have yet to hear anything to date.

Still dont know why they're moving like this.

My notes are due on Thursday but they have been running behind on timelines, so I am not sure if they will come.

At least POS now has a VAC (Visa Application Centre) open to deal with all of the administration for Study Permits, Work Permits, Temporary Resident Visas and Travel Documents for PR's. They also work from 9 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Ideally this will allow the VO's to focus more on PR applications and decision making rather than all of the clerical tasks. We hope . Blessings and encouragement folks.

Eek! That's a scary but realistic thought they likely would do. I'm finding the days are really starting to weigh heavily on me (I know I'm not the only one). I think I'm dreading the season change and don't want to go through another winter without husband. Winter is depressing enough without the thought of immigration.

CdnandTrini long time no see! How is everything besides this immigration battle? I suspect you will be ordering your case notes soon as well.

For those that have sent extra proofs did you just send once or did you send once you had a few things accumulated? We have lots of letters, call history, Skype, money transfers but I don't know if I should keep sending. We sent stuff to POS maybe 4-5 months ago. I've heard people say that it slows the file down because they have to pull it, but not sure if this is correct info.

Not too much else on this end. Will anyone be seeing their significant other anytime soon? Christmas will be our next trip (hoping I will cancel the flight because he is here but... Doubtful)!

Thankfully not. The VACs are 3rd party contractors and the VO's stay where they are due to their "expertise" and decision-making authority. The VACs do not make any decisions, they simply process the paperwork, make sure it is correct and complete, accept fees and will even help people complete their apps. For an additional fee of course! Blessings.

Hi Behopeful, this immigration battle is so tormenting that anything else has started to pale by comparison . Overall doing ok, one foot in front of the other, day by day and grateful for the other mercies in my life to sustain me -including the forum folks.

Yes I am going to order the notes (for the first time) especially as we can get the TRV refusal notes as well as the PR notes. If we get flagged for an interview, I will definitely need to know what is in them as ours will go back 6 years now. And I can tell you that I have sent so many complaints and e-mails over those, I cannot remember them all !

I think Christmas is probably the next time for many of us to plan a trip; however, for me personally I am debating about going sooner for hubby's b-day in November, or going in January for our wedding anniversary as flights will be better priced then as well. It irks me so much that airlines jack up prices on flights in December that I used to never travel during that time as a matter of principle. Now of course that is all gone up in smoke for love!!

How long will you be able to stay when you go? I am praying that we will see many COPRs issued before the holidays. As far as sending more proof, people do seem to be divided on the merits of it for the reason you stated. I am kind of where you are at though and wondering the same thing, so we'll see what our veterans have to say. Blessings to you and hubby and baby girl.

I waited til I had quite a bit accumulated and sent it off in one big package. I have loads more now, but I don't want to risk sending it and adding more work to my file at this point. I will just keep it in case they need it. I did however mention in my last CSE that I had tons more phone bills, skype/bbm chat, money transfers, etc and would be more than happy to send them. But no response. Lol
