Reply to Millslu & Miss Dominica re: Port of Spain Office, Trinidad and Tobago
Hello Millslu & Miss Dominica and thanks for the warm welcome, replies and helpful hints. I am still trying to figure out how to set up my posts so they look more like standard ones.
Just to refresh, my hubby is Trini, I'm Canadian have known each other 6 years and just got married this year Jan. 8th 2013. Medicals were done on Jan. 17th 2013 and entire application (mine as sponsor and his as principle applicant) was submitted together along with ROPR fee, medicals and application fee on Feb. 7, 2013 to CPC Mississauga (which is my hometown btw.)
March 20, 2013 CIC e-mailed that our application was "recieved" and provided a UCI number and application number. I checked our status on E-CAS and we were on there already with the note "medicals received". March 28, 2013 I received next e-mail to say that I had been approved as sponsor and "accordingly your application for permanent residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing." No change to E-CAS or any mention of when it may be received in Port of Spain.
As many people have written on this and other forums the POS office is hit and miss and some people get acknowledgments and some do not. My MP is very helpful so I will wait a bit and then just confirm that the file was received there. It is pretty complete, I followed all of the instructions to the letter and triple checked so nothing was missing. Used bar codes and everything else they wanted. Praying for all of us in this situation to be processed fairly and expediently. Long distance love is TOUGH!!
