Hello,
I just wanted to ask a question to anyone who might have better knowledge more than myself about how Trinidad embassy and how they may work. So I am filing for my husband to come to Canada. I am a Canadian citizen and he is a Trinidad citizen and we are in the final stages of our application. He received an email last week to come and give in his passport because he met the selection requirements and I received a letter to pay the RPRF and I couldn't be happier at that point knowing things were going on track and that everything is almost finalized. He went the following day to hand in his passport to the embassy. Literally the next day they emailed him and stated that their was a issue with the Schedule A background sheet and that his dates of employment had a lot of gaps and that he didn't state employment from 18-current. So he made a few changes and realized that their were some errors in the dates that he gave in originally. I helped my husband fix the dates so that were were correct without any gaps. Also he attached a letter of the changes and why they he made the specific changes, and he emailed it back to them just as they requested. But am just worried that they may think that he may have given false information and it has been killing me because they have not responded as yet and its stressing me out to point where I can't even sleep. So i just need some advice on if they can deny him for his mistake, especially a really small mistake at that. Ca someone may enlighten me or give me some advice concerning my situation and if I maybe just over thinking it??
Hmm.. that's a little strange. Usually they would not request a passport be dropped off until there is ALREADY proof that the RPRF has been paid. Often when it has not yet been paid, they request it and it delays the passport request by weeks-months while they wait for it and then finally getting around to requesting passport. And they should not have requested passport if they were having issues with his background declaration. My guess is that an officer thought he was through with the application and requested passport, but then realized that there was a few loose ends he hadnt tied up (making sure RPRF was paid and making sure all the forms were correct!). Hopefully, because the officer has his passport now and knows he made an error requesting it so fast, the officer will process his declaration form quickly and make sure the fee is paid and then quickly stamp the passport and give it back. Worse case scenerio, the application goes back into processing for a little while to figure out the errors on his form and they either keep his passport for awhile (while they work on it) or send it back til they are REALLY ready to give the visa. I'm hoping it's the former, that they will just process everything fast since they now have his passport and had REQUESTED it at their own error a little before they were really ready for it. I can't say whether they will see the form errors as misrepresentation as you did not explain how "different" the changes were from the originals. For example, if you made an error in the year (eg changed Jan 1 2008-Jan 1 2010 from Jan 1 2007 to Jan 1 2010) and just said you made an error when typing in the year, I don't think any officer is going to say you were trying to cheat the system and probably would not fault you for typos. If however, you completely changed dates of several periods and what you said you were doing in those periods (ie. unemployed changed to working or vice versa), that might look a little weird and cause them to question why it is so different. If they are minor changes as you indicate that have no major implications to what you claimed in your application, I would hope it would be ok - especially since you sent a letter explaining the changes.
Wish you guys best of luck! We would love it if you would submit your timeline (date you originally sent app to Mississauga, date you got approved to sponsor/file was transferred to POS, date you got AOR from POS, date your ecas changed from application received to in process, date you received passport request). All of that info helps us better understand when ours will be processed.
I hope it works out for you guys! All the best!
