I have a question:

Can my hubby travel through Miami or New York (as a stop-over) on his way to land in Toronto? Airfare is quite expensive this time of year for a direct flight from the caribbean. Will a visa be needed if its just a stop-over? It would be a one way ticket.

Yes he will need a US visa even if he is in transit.

I do believe though that there is a transit visa he can get if he's just passing through
