Hello everyone,

Can I sponsor my husband to Canada when I am receiving Canada Child Tax Benefit and Alberta Family Employment Tax Credit? I have a daughter and he is not the father. But we got married when I went home last April this year. Now I'm back in Canada.
Can somebody help me with this please?

CCTB is not a welfare,I'm not sure what is Alberta Family Employment Tax Credit..you cannot sponsor if you're under welfare or declared bankrupcy..my husband sponsored me even if one time while the sponsorship was on going,he applied for E.I. and there's no issue and we're receiving CCTB too..

Tax credits are not government assistance, neither are unemployment benefits.

To answer your unrelated question. Check the CIC website. It will tell you 80% of the cases will get done in that time frame
