Hello everyone,
i was just surfing through the net and i came across this site, so i thought maybe i should post my query here as well and see what people have to suggest.
I just recently got married and now i'd like to sponsor my husband here (canada). As i am filling out the forms, a number of issues came up, which i don't know how to resolve. i'll just list them all here.

1) my husband completed his education in Philippines and currently he's in China. Does anyone know how he can access police certificate from Philippines without actually physically going there?
2) My second issue is a bit complicated. My husband is divorced and my immediate family (parents and siblings) knows about it however, i was uncomfortable sharing this with my extended family as they would have created many obstacles in this marriage. So to prevent chaos, in the marriage contract we stated that my husband was never married. His previous marriage was registered and so is the divorce, what do you suggest i should do?

you help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks

hello and welcome on the forum.
for 1) he can go to the consulate or embassy to request a police certificate
for 2) I don't know what to tell but you should never lie or submit false information to an official representative...
What is written on the marriage certificate not on the marriage contract?
where was it issued?
Can you provide the correct information and have it change?
another question what is your husband's citizenship? Cause I know that there is no divorce in Philipines

this is how he can obtain police certificate from Philipines from CIC website:

How to obtain a police certificate - Philippines
Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes.

How and where do I obtain one?

Local Requests
Applicants should apply in person and pay applicable fees at the local National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Fingerprints and photographs will be taken at the time of application. The certificate must have a thumbprint and include a dry seal.

Non-Resident Requests
Applicants can apply to the nearest Philippine embassy or consulate. The application must include a full set of fingerprints taken and certified by the recognized police or law enforcement agency of the applicant’s place of residence, with two black-and-white photographs (2x2 in.). Alternatively, applicants may apply directly to the National Bureau of Investigation head office at:

National Bureau of Investigation
Identification and Record Division
Room 109, NBI Complex
Taft Avenue, Manila
Philippines

it's issued in Pakistan.

You're absolutely right, i shouldn't lie and i don't want to.
In the application, he did say he is divorced and we are attaching his divorce papers with the application. It's just that in the current marriage contract, it says he was single and this information is not consistent (i'm not sure if i am making any sense?). His previous marriage only lasted for three months.

Is it written on the marriage certificate as well? cause a marriage certificate and a marriage contract are 2 different documents.
If yes so you must change it. ask for a new one explaining that there is an error.
Cause it may rise questions in officers heads
