Can someone please direct me to the CIC website where it states that police records expire after 1 year? I know it is stated here often, but I can't seem to find any official wording on this. Thanks in advance.

Not all are a year. Some are 6 months 8 etc. It should state on your check or you can check with your local police department

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:

• are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
• have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.

That is a million dollar question, just as why do some people get their medical results extended and others not?

I wonder if the decision differs depending on the visa office?

It's nothing to do with the validity stated on the PCC.

So you mean to say there is no way to ascertain when a visa office deems a PCC to have expired?

Generally, it's as per the info I posted above from the website. However, IRCC requests updated PCCs for many other reasons.

Thanks. My question isn't how old the PCC can be when submitting it, but was curious how long it remains valid once it has been submitted...

My husband police record expired on September 12, 2017 get they didn't ask for an updated one

Thank you! Thats such a relief. I was in a bit of a panic because I had heard they were only good for 6 months. My husbands expires mid-October, but don't want to give KVO ANY reason to turn us away
