Police Clerance in India from different state ?

Hi Experts,
I have spent minimum 3 years in three different states in India in past because of my education period.
Do I need to get PCC(Police Clearance Ceritificate) from all those three different states?
Or just PCC from my recent address will suffice the requirement of immigration ?
Please suggest me if you have been through similar case.

Get latest one from your passport office.

But - Passport office gives : Police Verification but not the Police Clearance Certificate.
This is issued by DIG office at District.
