Hello,

I am planning to start my immigration process under express entry or PNP whatever is suitable for use as a family.

My question is, I used to live in Qatar and currently living in the UAE. Later in the process, I will need to provide a police clearance from Qatar during the period living there. Unfortunately, the UAE and Qatar are not friends at the moment, so the Qatari embassy is closed. Therefore, how can I get a police clearance? Can this be explained in an official letter to the Canadian Immigration as the clearance cant ve opened?

Any ideas on how to sort it out when its time, please let me know.

Thank you and stay safe.

You can be exempted from submitting a police clearance for reasons out of your control, like this one, but you still have to show you've made some effort to acquire one.

A police clearance is still very far into the process for Express Entry, and deadlines have been extended anyway because of the pandemic. Do not worry about it for now.

You need to give power of attorney to someone in Qatar in order to obtain PCC on your behalf.
get power of attorney, stamp it by foreign affair UAE then attest it by Oman Embassy UAE (since Qatar embassy closed, Oman embassy works as bridge). after that you need to send this original document to Qatar. That's how i obtain mine.
Good luck

Yes I heard few people had some sort of letters sent to the immigration to explain if any of the documents cant be obtained and they are very understanding.

Hi, thank you for the great info. Was it a smooth procedure ? Did oman embassy give you any hard time ? How long did the process take ? :)

Hi, procedure is fairly smooth.. Oman embassy attestation finished in 5 minutes (accepted cash only). the whole thing took 3 days. now could be even less, mine was rising time of Corona and offices were shutting.

Sorry last question, the POA was issued in the oman embassy or do I need to have it ready first and then go attest it ?
POA will be prepared by notary service, stamped by Judicial department and attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (which you'll get all at one place i think) then you take that to Oman embassy.
