Hi, myself & my husband are applying for Canadian immigration soon from VA,USA.Initially we decided that only my husband will apply for the immigration & i'll join later when his application is successful. Now we have changed our mind & want to apply together. We have got police clearance certificates for my husband who will be the principal applicant, from both India(took 1 month to come) & usa(took 2 months to come). Now if I am to be included in the application ,its going to be not less than 3 months that I receive my clearance which will be too late.My question is :Can we send the application form all completed & write them a letter informing that we will be sending in my police clearance certificate as soon as we receive it?Will they accept our application? Please help me!

If you don't send in the complete application, a couple of months down the road it will probably returned as incomplete, so wait and get the certificates.

Actually I have spoken with some immigration agents, they say in the initial stage ,police clearance is not required. We can always send in our application & later on send in the police clearance if we go through them.Do these agents have the authority to do so?Our h1b will expire soon &we dont want to wait till another 2 months. Please give me a well researched reply if possible. It will be very helpful! Thanks again.

I hope you are not paying the agents money, if you read the instructions for the visa post (checklist) you will see that the criminal records checks are required to be submitted with the application. Make sure the agents are members of a Canadian Bar or member of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants, these are the only agents CIC will deal with.

Hi,

There is a contradictory information regarding police clearance certificates for persons who wish to apply from Buffalo,USA.If I see the visa office specific forms for Buffalo,it says we need to submit police clearance along with the application but when I read the instructions given in the CIC's Buffalo visa office website ,Under "obtaining police clearance certificates", it is clearly written that we should not ask for police clearance from authorities in ,Hongkong,USA & Canada unless we are asked by the visa officer. Can any one help?...Thanks!

Police Clearance Certificate

Hi,
I am currently living in USA, and I have filed all my paper for canadian immigration sometime in Nov 2003. I did not file the police clearance certificate when I filed my paper with Buffalo, USA. Canadian immigration office transferred my case to Los Angeles sometime in Jan 2005, and I got a letter from Los Angeles office to appear for an interview with all police clearance certificate / and all other papers sometime in Jun 2005. I have applied for all state police clearnce and federal clearnce, and I appeared for medicals in May 2005. We have attended interview at Los Angeles, and I was asked to pay the landing fee on the same day or at a later date. We sent our pasport for stamping and got the passport back three months after our interview, and now we are ready to complete the Landing procedure end of May 2006. Hope this will help you decide if you need to send your police clearance certificate along with your filing. Please note that all your police clearance certificate will be vaild for only six months, and the medicals valid for one year for landing. Moreover you case will not be finalized in 6 months from the days of filing unless it is a family based. My case was filed under skilled category. Thanks

Police Clearance Certificate

Please note that I am also from India, but I didn't submit any police clearance certificate from India. All I got was State and Federal clearance certificate in USA. Also the officer at LA didn't ask clearnce certficate from India. I do not know, this may differ from case to case, office to office, and officer to officer. Thanks

Up till Sept/05 Buffalo did not ask for clearances up front, but that was when the change was put in place. In your case, it appears that the officer made a mistake, unless you left India before you were 18.

Hi,
My boyfriend and I, caught us together in my flat in Sharjah UAE. Somebody from the neighbor called the CID, and I was detained for 2 months. Since the amnesty from the Gov't came or they called it, "Afo" I was freed and deported back to my country. They charged me of prostitusion, they found one bottle of whisky in my kitchen room, and illegally open my laptop and found 2-3 sex porno by forcing me to give to my laptop password. My charges were, 1. prostitution, 2. drinking liquor which wasn't, I was tested in the hospital, was "alcohol negative". 3. Pornographic material in my laptop, which is my personal possesion and i put password on it so that i am the one can open it, but the police insisted to give to them the password and they opened it and found 2-3 porno sex video.pls. do guide me.

I am anxious of getting a police clearance in the UAE, and since i was deported, and cleared from the case because of that amnesty they called it "Afo".

My question, is the UAE police department deprive me of getting a police clearance since i need it so soon?

Any help is acceptable and pls. do email me to my email also, I am so sad and depressed now. phil.filipino@yahoo.com.ph
