Hi,

I got to know that the police clearance has to be within the same year.

For me , because I haven't come back to my home country since 2011, my home country police said they can only issue an police clearance stating that I haven't commit any bad things before 2011 (which is the time I am not physically in my home country), although the signature date will be in this year. Have you seen or dealt with similar cases like this ? Is such a police clearance fine ?

Thanks in advance.

Passport offices usually issue the police clearance certificate because it is tied up with your passport. And also they just mention something like "There is no adverse information found against this person which prohibit him to enter to Canada".

BTW, which country you are from?

If you are in Canada then you have to get the latest police clearance. You cant put police clearance which is 6 months old. You can request for Police clearance from Canada only. You dont need to contact Indian police stations.

Google BLS India

Thank you guys for the quick reply.

I am talking about the police clearance from the home country. The police clearance is actually new(signed 2014-07), but the police clearance only mentions that there is no bad things with me before 2011.07. (The reason behind this is that I wasn't living in my home country ever since 2011-07, and the officials say they can only issue something which states there is no bad thing with me before the time I left China).

Police clearance certificates from home country are usually issued only for the dates you lived there. Hence your pcc specifying that you have no bad records until the day you left the country is totally OK. Hope this answered your question.
