police clearance query | need help & advice

Hi everyone, My husband and i received our ITA in April and since then have been getting all the documents in order. We were going to submit our application this week but someone raised a question about our application which is why we need your help and advice.
I have travelled to the US over the last 10 years for 9 months but not in a row. eg- i travelled for a month in 2010 and then for 2 months in 2011 and so on. We have now been asked to get a police clearance for US but the Canada immigration website states we require PCC for those countries we've lived in for over 6 months in a row. We are now confused on how to proceed.
My questions are-
1. Do we require a police clearance from the US if i have travelled on a tourist visa for 9 months but now in a row. It was one month every year as my brother lives there so we travel often to visit him
2. If anyone on the forum is not a US Citizen and doesn't live in the US, please could you help me with the process. From what we've seen online, it takes the FBI 60 days to respond.

Would really appreciate the help. Thank you in advance.

Regards

Ideally in your case you should not require a PCC from the US as you've never stayed for 6 months in a row. But if IRCC has asked to get you a US PCC through your EE, I guess you don't have a choice but to get it.
You mentioned that "someone raised a question about our application", I hope it is not any consultant or friend who advised you to get US PCC. If that's the case, you can conveniently ignore that :)

You can refer to the below thread for the IRCC current rule. There's a link to CIC website relevant page in one of my comments.

Thank you very very much! yes we have been advised by our consultant to get the US PCC. We had our doubts about this but will now ask them to move forward without the PCC for US. Thank you again

I cannot say for sure, but have seen a trend, for applicants who have provided FBI PCC have had there applications, processed a tad quicker...
So i would suggest to go for it.

Did you guys finally get the US PCCs? Have you submitted your PR application already?
