That's what I was thinking but as per CIC "For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the PC must have been issued later than the departure date of the last time the client resided in that country for more than six months" & The PCs are required upfront and mandatory for each country (except Canada) where an individual has lived for six or more months in a row.
Suppose you are staying in a country for a period of 6 months or more and you would be leaving that country. Obviously, you will apply for a PCC from that country during your last few days of your stay. So how does this PCC become invalid? Kindly explain.
This PCC obtained during the last few days of your stay is valid provided you do not return back to this country after that.

Below is mentioned on CIC website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

Who needs a police certificate?

In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18. (For example, if you lived in a country for eight months but left on a two-week vacation, that counts as living there for eight months.)

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

If your certificate is in a language other than English or French, send it when you apply, along with the original copy of a translation done by a certified translator.

That is a specific sentence and you need to decode it and understand the logic. Not everybody applies for a PCC at the time of leaving a country. So obviously most of the PCCs will be obtained after the stay had been completed. When an applicant is proactive and obtains a PCC at the time of leaving a country then it is valid. It is not possible for anybody to receive the PCC from a country exactly on the day or a day before his departure.

7 to 10 days time difference between obtaining PCC and date of departure is acceptable. Plus CIC can verify it from the Police authorities of that particular country.

Moreover, if a person commits a crime after obtaining PCC in his last few days of stay, do u think he can leave the country and he won't be questioned at the Airport??

Will submit my application this week with explanation.

Hey,

I am in the same situation as you. I am in Ottawa, and I want a Police Clearance from Qatar, so I went to the embassy here recently, and applied for it, they said it will take 6 months, at least. Unbelievable!!

Now I received my ITA yesterday, and I am trying other routes because I only have 60 days. I recently contacted a firm in Qatar called "FutureGate", and those guys were highly recommended for this kind of situations. But the guy there replied to me that there are (changes in the legislation of the Ministry in Qatar, any person outside Qatar requesting for a Qatar PCC must do this manually by himself.)

I emailed one other company yesterday, and their response was a bit different, but still, they said that no one can help me from there, because my Residence Permit is expired. What they suggested was this:

The CID is no longer locally issuing Qatari Police clearance certificate for assignees whom RP expired and will require to go thru below process to retrieve it.

They require to draft a letter in English and courier the same from their current location to the CID department in Qatar. (It is important that they mentions their exact address and PO Box so the CID can courier back the issued PCC accordingly).

The letter should be signed by the assignee and state the below;

- Their exact departure date from Qatar
- Their assignment duration of stay in Qatar
- Their Full name, QID and passport number
- Their current country address they will send the documents from, so they can receive the issued Qatari PCC from the CID. – it is important they mention the PO Box in the letter to receive the PCC back

They should attach as well a clear Passport copy (biographic page), a scan copy of the exit stamp on the passport, their RP and QID copy.

The charges are 110 QR ( 50 QR for the original PCC issuance and 60 QR as courier charges), you can put the amount in the envelope,

Please find below the CID courier address;

Criminal Evidence & Information Department
Ministry of Interior
PO Box 23004
Doha – State of Qatar

The process will take 15 – 20 Working days as informed by the CID officer.

I am trying to wrap this up today so I send the courier today if I can. I suggest you do the same. Goodluck.
Did you receive the PCC from Qatar? How long the Department of Foreign Affairs, Canada and Qatari consular, Ottawa take to stamp / authenticate the Canadian PCC?
I am told that there are only two ways to obtain the Qatari police clearance certificate :
1. The Qatari consular Ottawa route that takes about 11 weeks,
2. Apply in person (with the Canadian PCC duly legalized as above)
Appreciate your reply. Regards.

Hello,
I was with the same situation in decbr as my AOR dcbr4 and was asked to submit Qaatr pcc within 60says of receipt. So i tried all possible ways with my friends and company deligates and they require relative to apply on our behalf. They will not issue it to anyone othr than close relative(mother, father, brother). So u can take finger print and attested and submitted to Qatar embassy or consulates office in ur country.Another method to send one close relative to there. The former procedure will take atleast 2 months and 4 dys for the later.I tried with the second option and got within 4 days.

Just a note that if anyone is looking to get a quick PCC from Qatar, drop me a line. The process invovles using a reliable company based in Qatar, the applicant will give a power of attorney to represent before all authorities. It takes anywhere between a week to 2 weeks or more depending on the work load.

On IRCC website, it is only mentioned "after the last time you lived in that country". I don't think just spending additional 8 days after receiving PCC should be an issue.
Anyway I will attach a LOE.

I cannot edit my previous comment, so I hope people can read my reply here. The method that I mentioned above did not work. I did mail the package to Qatar, but it was returned weeks later. They did not process it, and of course no explanation was provided. I urge everyone to go through the embassy. I had applied to the embassy at the same time, and I got a call earlier this week from the embassy telling me that my PCC is ready, and that's almost less than 5 months.
