Police clearance/military

When you apply for police clearance,if you have been in the armed forces and travelled to many places over 26 years staying in some for longer than 1 year at a time. Is police clearance needed for the countries or the one from UK ok,please advise. Thankx.

Hi Smiler,

My husband is in the RN and we lived in Italy for 2 years, from 2007 to 2009 and we had to get one from the Italians, I will check with my husband, but I thought it was places outside UK in the last 5 years, we also had to provide a translation. Hope this helps a little!

PCC is country specific, one PCC for one country, no need for PCC from all the locations where you stayed.

While on Active Duty; & posted overseas under ERE (Extra Regimental Employment), or on TD (Temporary Duty), or on AAC (Active Armed Combat,) or on ACA (Aid to Civil Authorities), or under UNPKF (United Nations Peace Keeping Force), u'll NOT BE asked for those country's PCCs.

Why?
'coz u were under Military Duty & it's of no concern of the Police. Neither your whereabouts can be tracked/traced. U were governed under the AFSA (Armed Forces Secrecy Act).

Eg.
When members of the NATO Forces or Allied Nations enter Iraq or Afganistan, they do not provide the PCC to CIC. CHCs do not ask too. I'm a live example.

RIDER:
However, there's a rider to the foregoing. If u were posted on Deputation to some foreign Govtl Agency (not Military), u'll be required to provide those country's PCCs.

Yes the dates are correct! They seemed to turn things very quickly. Fingers crossed all goes well for you! We hope to move over by mid Nov. As my husband has joined the Canadian Forces.
