Hi there,

I am on a month's vacation in India- having lived in Canada for the past 3 years. I have been nominated for PR by BC, and am gathering documents. I need PCC and thought I should get it whilst I am here. My question is- on the passport seva kendra website it asks for the present address but it doesn't give the option to select any country other than India. So am I good to put in the address that I am staying at (it's where I have lived my whole life till I went to Canada)?? Do I still need to provide details of address in Canada??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Easy to get PCC in Canada.. Visit near India embassy & submit your passport original to get PCC in week or two.

Getting PCC in India is long process, you need to go to your SP office near you native apply for PCC & your file will get transfer to local police station for verification (it is similar to passport application in Indis), local police will get your signature & move the file back to SP office, you need to visit SP office to get PCC --- will take 4 to 6 weeks if you have luck, all the best!

When PSK is asking for your address, it obviously is referring to your address on Indian passport or the address you've regarded as home before you left for Canada. Yes, it would've been convenient to simply apply for PCC from your Indian consulate of your province. But since you're in India, get it done with a PSK, that is the fastest way to get it done. Doing it done through your local police station esp in Kerala will be a waste of resources, because they give a area specific PCC that pertains to that jurisdiction only and not for the entire country. Goodluck!
